Looking for cheap flooring from Homebase?

Hi, to be honest, all quickstep flooring IMO is excellent quality. Obviously the kitchen will be a place of constant traffic so I would advise quickstep 800 as a starter. quickstep 700 is ok, but 800 slightly thicker and for price difference best to opt for. This is proabably the most sold quickstep nowadays. You could opt for quickstep 950, but this depends on your budget. For a kitchen you may want tiles, and these are available to by quickstep in the 800 range, although work out a little more expensive.

Quickstep 800 varies in price, but a box is around £22-24 covers 1.6 sqm (approx £15 sq m). Longer planks are available which cover 1.722 sqm and are approx £16 sq m. You can get it cheaper by shopping around and Floors2go often have sales. As previously mentioned they will sometimes price match to get the sale and fitters themselves will possibly do it cheaper!

Online companies tend to advertise VAT free prices which look good, but are near enough shop prices when checkout reached! The other thing with shops it as it may be easier to return items and get extra items if needed.

I have used Homebase Parawood on my stairs and upstairs hall and for sake of continuity I would like to extend it in to my bathroom. This is a large bathroom - about 16 sq metres - which doesn't seem to have a condensation problem. However, according to Homebase this flooring is not suitable for bathrooms - could I still use it perhaps with a couple of extra coats of varnish?
