For me it has to be Sainsbury's Basics. I'm a real tea lover and would only drink PG, but read on this forum somewhere that Basics were good, as well as being Fair Trade, so I gave them a try and was very impressed. The switch has saved me a fortune!0

Definitely Sainsburys Red Label. Mmmmmm drinking a big mug right now!0

I too switched to Sainsbury's basic tea bags at around 28p and they are great I leave them in a little longer to get a better colour but as I have tea running through my veins I find them great and a darn sight cheaper than the big branded ones ,plus there fairtrade so its a win win deal, most of my friends have switched as well0

Hi wekslap,
Now that you've had some input from the Old Stylers I've moved your thread over to the Food Shopping & Groceries board where you should get more replies.

Personally I don't like tea of any sorts, apart from Fruit Tea, I've tried cheaper versions but it has to be twinnings for this.
However, for ordinary tea the OH says Sainsburys Basics or Tesco Value are fine. I've asked him and he says so. He has previously commented on some value range things that I have bought, so the tea must be okay.
I don't oftern shop in Asda so can't comment on those.0 -
Coop 99 for its rich malty flavour. PLEASE! PLEASE ! Take a little extra time and effort and use the 99 leaf tea, it is much better than the bags !

Tesco or Asda's own brand - Asda winning at the moment as you can get 2 boxes of 240 tea bags for £5, so about a penny a bag, and they make a nice strong cup of tea.0

Sainsbury's Basic teabags for us too. Would never have given them a second look if it had not been mentioned on here quite some time ago how great they are. My husband drinks gallons of tea and is the first to moan if something is not to his liking but he keeps getting up for more so nice tea with a nice price.0
