Cabin baggage question
Comments

I have (only once) known gate staff recheck hand baggage size at the gate and refuse to accept it in the cabin, even though it was OK'd at check in. And that was on Easyjet. The result was a screaming match (not involving me, I hasten to add), security being called, a 10 minute delay and a missed take off slot.No free lunch, and no free laptop

That's something I worry about I think, it being okay one minute and then not the next and I have no money on me to pay it and it causes and inconvenience to our whole group.
I'll have to just make sure I've got money in the bank to pay in case something crops up. Best Wins:

You can take tweezers/pliers/boltcutters if you want to. But only in your checked baggage.
The definitive prohibited list is here:

The OP is only taking one cabin bag, no checked luggage! See post #3.0 -
We've just come home from Malta and several people on our flight had handbags separate (me inlcuded, though I could have stuffed it in my hand luggage bag if need be). They also had duty free bags they'd bought at the airport and there was no problem - that was with Air Malta. But there were at least 2 announcements for Ryanair passengers saying only one piece of hand luggage was permitted, and that included any duty free purchases. We saw people by the gate being told they had to comply and there were a lot of bottles and bags being passed round between people trying to get it all into their one piece entitlement!0

I went from East Mids recently and the airport had signs up saying you could take one bag of shopping in addition to your baggage. I wasn't with Ryanair but wondered if anyone had experience of this?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

That's the normal rule, to encourage people to buy Duty Free. However Ryanair make no allowances - you have to fit it into your hand luggage or pay the excess.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

There's a specific size restriction on the bag too...I've seen people with much larger get by OK, but plenty of reports of people being told they have to buy a proper size bag (at those airports that charge for them).

containers must be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cmDoes remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
