I feel that Hera probably did recognise her own breed in the 2 GS that she has joined...

Where she spent last 6 months, she was living with several GS as the lady only takes GS on foster...

I must not get a GSD puppy, I must not get a GSD puppy, I must not get.....

I'm just wondering .... do you think dogs recognise their own breed?

Just thinking with Hera having such a stressful couple of days if she'll have padded into her new home and gone "ohhhhhhhh, yessssss, there's others like me" or if it wouldn't matter what kind of dog it was....

Absolutely. My westie girls spot or sniff a westie at 100 yards. They are always very polite with their own kind too (apart from one who is the most grumpiest westie I have ever met)!!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

That's a nice thought. It would be good if that was the case. :)
