    This is the problem of using iTunes or any other DRM.

    Even if the content was unprotected converting from one "lossy" format to another will lose much quality.

    IMO What you need to do is buy the CD, then use something like CDEX to convert to MP3. Then use something like mediamonkey to manage your files.
