    Why not try it?

A router acts as a firewall, so does windows.

AV vendors have to make money, so market the "extra features" to try and stand out from the crowd. In reality they have little value - free version of avast + free version of malwarebytes + windows firewall + mvps hosts file gives good coverage.

If you feel the need to have a full security suite.

Download and save Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 to your PC. Don't install.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall Norton 360

    Re-boot.

Install Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 by double clicking on the file that you downloaded earlier. You will have a thirty day evaluation period. If you are happy with it, use the Activation Code from this Kaspersky Internet Security DVD £9.99 No need to install the DVD, as you would already have the updated version installed. Just insert the Activation Code.

You can read about KIS 2012 here

Thanks, have done this and now have Kaspersky on my laptop :)
