I have just done something I swore I would never do. I was reading in another persons diary how they took advantage of a bingo offer on a cashback site so I thought that I would give it a go. You have to spend a tenner to get twenty odd pounds back. Thankfully, I managed to win the amount I spent and I have transferred it back into my bank account. I am just spending the last 70p and then I am never venturing on online bingo sites again.
To keep track ...
GBingo. Deposit and play £10. £20 bonus and £20.20 cashback. Had to deposit another £5 as I only had 10p left of initial bonus and I have to play a tenner to get the cashback. Won £15 and withdrew it to my back account. Have spent nothing and am waiting to see if cashback is successful.
SBingo Deposit a tenner to get a tenner in cashback. Was referred by a friend to get another tenner. I mistakenly deposited £20 (was tired and hasty). Only spent a tenner though and have transferred £15 back and left £5 in the bingo account because there was an advert for a free £20 play. Will check in the next few days. If not, will transfer it back to my account meaning that I have spent nothing on it. I am waiting to see if the cashback is successful.
I hope to god that I do get the £30.20 in cashback because there has been an awful lot of faffing about involved. Fingers crossed!0 -

Well blow me down with a feather duster! The money is back in my bank account and the cash back has been confirmed. I am just waiting for it to be payable. Not counting my chickens yet.

Well, it looks as though my second job is a non-starter as I received my P45 in the post this morning. I am praying that it is an end-of-the year oversight because I am damn good at my job and I need the extra cash. I am remaining hopeful and using is as much needed kick up the backside to apply for anything and everything that is FT and permanent in my chosen field. My PT hours are managable but I am sooooo bored where I am. I just feel incredibly under-valued where I am at the mo at that is no good for ones self-esteem
Anyway, I am off work for two weeks so I *am* going to be productive and ebay, survey and MS as much as I can.
I am also in the middle of doing my housework. Joy of joys!
ETA:
I have done a load of washing and cleaned the front room and kitchen. I have sorted some things out for the tip, charity shop and have listed something on ebay. I have also chased up selling my old ink cartridges that I posted about ages ago. Just need to clean the bathroom and find more stuff to ebay.0 -
The past few days in a nutshell:
* Have had a £50 vet bill thanks to one furry animal eating something that he shouldn't have! He is ok
* Received an unexpected £30odd refund when I updated my Greenflag I will receive this in a few days. I am grateful for this because payday is in three weeks and I have £58 in the bank and £30 in my purse.
* Have £25 confirmed in topcashback and I am waiting for it to be payable.
* Received £5 Amazon voucher thanks to the thinktank.
* Not been able to make any extra repayments this month (well, aside from what I normally do). I'm not happy about this
* Have listed an item on ebay which has 9 watchers. I am hoping that a bidding war will ensue.0 -
Gosh, I haven't updated this for ten days. Tbh, not much has happened. I haven't been able to make any extra payments and my CC bill has increased slightly. This is because I bought a new car and had to pay for the deposit so I now owe £589.32. When I updated my Greenf1@g details I was awarded a refund and that went towards the CC debt. Luckily, I don't have to spend any more money on my new car as it was bought for me. I was in a complete state of shock for agessss. So very kind.
I have been ebaying but only one thing at a time because I am terrified that something will go wrong. Both things sold
I am about to start another spending fast. My last one lasted for seven days on the trot and I am aiming for the same. Any more will be a welcome bonus. Today is day one and so far so good
My cashback has been confirmed but I'm still waiting for it to become payable. I wish that it would hurry up!
Just listed some more things on ebay. Fingers crossed that they sell. I also have a parcel of old cds to send to Music Magpie.
ETA out of the two things that I listed, one has four watchers already. I just need them to bid0 -
Day two went ok. I have £20 in my purse to cover emergencies but I really don't want to have to spend it. I don't need any petrol but I might need bread and milk.
Both things that I have listed on ebay have watchers and I must, must, must list more things this week.
Oh do you know, I just feel as though I am forever in countdown mode. Countdown to the weekend, countdown to payday, countdown to being debt free. If I carry on like this I am going to forget about the right now and become an OAP instead. Oh happy days *le sigh*
I'm going to update the paid bit in my signature in a min. I just wish that the figure was in my savings account!! Oh woe is me.
ETA: I just did it and look, just look! If I had my act in gear then I could have saved just under £1000 in two months. I feel so ashamed. On the day before payday (in nine days time) I shall know exactly how much I owe and then I shall be able to update the other part of my signature. I must log in here every day just to help keep myself on track.0 -
Today is day three of my spending fast and so far it's going great. I am eating out of the freezer and the cupboards are chocca so I shouldn't need to pop to the shops.
The £20 in my purse is still there.
My signature is up-to-date and it is shocking. When I get paid, next week, it will come down by a few hundred pounds but I need to make a better effort to keep reducing my debt. I just feel as though I am treading water right now and I have no one to blame but myself.0 -
Well, I am not working today
(reduced hours have officially kicked in) but I mustn't waste the day. What's that saying - seize the day or something along those lines.
Anyhoo, I am up and I have made my bed. I have also updated my spending diary and totalled up my NSDs for the first three months of the year.
I also transferred £11.39 ebay money onto my CC bill so that has come down slightly.
I'm not going to type a list of goals for the day. I want to type a list of achievements later. I must not slob around feeling sorry for myself!
* Just chased up my second job. I am really not hopeful about this. Ohh I need some good luck and cheery news in my life. The thing is, my second job means that I can make extra payments and get myself out of this hole once and for all. Urghhh!!!0 -
Sorry to hear about the work stuff - well done for still getting up early and not staying in bed (like I would have done!)
With a positive attitude I am sure that you will do something to sort out your income and will keep the debt going the right way (down!).
Good luck and keep checking in here with your updates to keep on track - and congrats on the non spend days.[STRIKE]Family £400[/STRIKE] CC1 [STRIKE]£415[/STRIKE] Lloyds [STRIKE]£460[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Natwest£750[/STRIKE] £627.59 Tesco [STRIKE]£1880[/STRIKE] £1725 Grand total £2,352.59
Pay off all debt by xmas 2014 #136 £1552.41/£3905
Additional money made 2014 £88.500 -
yayyy!!! There is a god!!! I can do my second job again BUT I have to be cleared again and that could take a couple of weeks. Ohh I am so happy!!!!!! But, I don't want to count my chickens before they have hatched so I shall continue to be a miserable moo and be uber frugal!
ETA - have an appointment to go in on Friday afternoon. This means that I have to cancel my plans but - wahey! - I can't turn down the potential to earn an extra £250+ a month. Have also been asked for my cv which I have emailed.
ETA2: Today is NSD number four - yay! I have now passed the halfway point of my spending fast. I did some ironing today and some other household chores. I also listed another item on ebay. Lot's of watchers but no takers as of yet. I wish that they would bid!0
