Should the pump stay on all the time?

Got the new stove going today and the thermostat is set to 65degrees, but the pump hasn't gone off since we got it going at 8am. Is this normal ? The last one didn't do this. What happens overnight ? Burning smokeless eggs.

OH says its on a pipe halfway up the hot water tanks and the pipe is hot all the time. We set it at 80 and the pump has calmed down a bit
