  • Thanks everyone for your replies :) It's interesting to get other peoples views on it but it sounds like I should just go for it! Now just to figure out where my nearest place is to get it done!

Had mine in work last week. Felt a bit under the weather the day after but nothing much apart from a slight pain in my arm at the injection site. Now the day after that was a different story - the pain in my arm was horrendous! If I turned over in the night it woke me up. I felt a bit of a drama queen but I never expected it to hurt that much :rotfl:

They use a different jab each year, relying on WHO advice of which flu strains are most likely to be prevalent over the next year

I just wanted to add, having the flu jab doesn't guarantee you won't get it. As pmduk says they vaccinate against the strains expected to be prevalent over the winter but you can still catch another strain, but obviously it lessens your risk of catching flu so it's def worth it. I've had the jab for a few years now but was unlucky enough to get flu last Xmas it was hellish.
It is £7 in Lloyds pharmacy

Last year was the first time I didn't have one and I spent most of December/January in bed. Don't be mistaken, flu is not just a bad cold, it can kill.
