Ebay selling & paypal
Options
Ok, so I made the mistake of listing my car for sale on ebay before reading this forum...
Anyway, I've got a few people watching it (listed as classified ad) but I've said I'll accept paypal or cash.
A) Can I change this to say cash/bank transfer only or is that likely to confuse matters
If I leave it to say i'll accept paypal, can I do anything to prevent reversals?
Any other suggestions please? First time we've sold privately.

You might get a better answer if you post in the Ebay,Auctions,Car Boot and Jumble sales sub forum.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0

just change it to say cash on collection.0

Don't worry, its the same as an ad in the back of the local paper or autotrader. EBay/paypal have no further say in the sale.0

cheers, changed it...who'da thunk it would be as easy as that.0

Incorrect for classified ads, the purchase is done outside of eBay.
OP glad you got it sorted, I presume you had just written it in your advert.0 -

I've sold my last two cars on Ebay without problem. I went for the deposit on Paypal / balance cash on collection method just to ensure that they would turn up. Sales were auctions starting at 99p and the cars went for £510/£600 which was about what I would got via AutoTrader. For the £600 car I had been offered £200 trade-in (on a £12,000 purchase) or £300 from WeConAnySeller.com (so I would have ended up with £150).
Classified Ads are great for more expensive motors but you're not guaranteed a sale. Start at 99p and it will definitely sell! Can I help?0
