I'm liking the look of these at the moment so have ordered a sample.

She has quoted me £400 for all my day invites, evening invites, place name cards, menus for the tables, table plan, favour boxes and guestbook all matching and a 5% discount which I think is pretty good!! :money:

I love those invites! I was trying to find a way to put in all of the information (choice of menu, map etc) and that is perfect. I wonder if there is a way to do them home made... I may order a sample and see.

Thanks for sharing and hope you don't mind!

hi Kara_P, of course I don't mind. If you google "wedding cheque invite" you should find places to buy kits to make your own because I did see some myself before I buy the ebay ones. But I seriously think for how nice these look on the listing, the fact that she has a successful business out of making wedding stationery, and the fact that they're only £2.50 per invite I don't think it's worth the hassle to make them yourself. Just my opinion but you may be a crafty type and enjoy spending the time and effort to make your own, whereas I have no patience!!! :rotfl:

I did the same as several other people on here and used Vistaprint. They work out pretty cheap and I adapted things e.g. I used a 'save the date' card basis for evening invites. I've also just seen somebody else's Vistaprint invites where they added some ribbon and decorations and really made them look lovely. Have fun - you don't have to spend a fortune for wedding stationery to get nice stuff :)

oh dear is £400 not good then?

I've spoken to a couple of friends who got married recently and they paid that for their invites alone whereas this for me would cover all my wedding stationery.

    Maybe I'm just naive!!! :o

  • Wow £400, I feel so cheap now lol

    I paid around

£20.00 to buy the stuff to make my own day invites,
£1.29 for a pack of 20 paper evening invites, for close friends I'll be using the remainder of the left over cards for the day, the rest will get some cheapy invites (from local card shop),
£18 for printable tags to make my place name cards which I'm going to attach to my favours (confetti),
£6 for menus for the tables (i used vistaprint's brochures and added the wedding party names, a thank you part, a bit about where we had the ceremony and only paid for postage),
£28.00 for the table plan, I bought it from confetti to do myself at home,
About £75 for favours, I haven't got these yet as the day guests are getting lottery tickets which will be rolled inside ivory paper with our names on and a little poem. I will attach the tags to these to make the name places up.
£2.99 for guestbook (from local cardshop, stuck some roses on to match my theme).

All in all I'm looking at around £150, but I have 20 months to make everything plus I love making stuff like this.

Id say no,not very :money: are u not able to do them yourself? the way i see it is £400 for people to throw them in the recycling is alot of money if you could half that or go even less u could put that money to something else.u can buy kits on ebay and like i said in a previous post,so many templates and ideas on the web all u need is a good printer.most companies charge £2.50 per invite  its crazy.im doing my friends favors for about £25 all in,or do u know anyone who is a bit crafty and could do them?

I'm sure it's pretty good compared to what some people pay, it's just that I am so MSE :money: that I find it really expensive!!! :rotfl: But it just depends on your own priorities, some people would rather have someone else do it for them and are happy to pay a bit more. :) e.g. I am going to let M&S make my cake for me rather than buying the ingredients and doing it myself - too much hassle! Having said that, I would baulk at paying £££s for a cake so M&S is a low-cost AND no-hassle option!

I'm going to be designing and making my own invites, RSVPs, thank you cards, OOS and table plan with the help of OH's friend, who is handy with typesetting etc. I'll buy the paper and envelopes and that'll be the only cost (apart from the stamps lol). I just want them to be quirky and vintage looking and unique!!! And cheap! :rotfl:
