How many weeks food?

There's a thread on one of the other forums running where someone only has £x to last her family till next payday, and when she lists what food she has in the house atm there's about four items. Which makes me wonder...how much food do most folk keep in stock? If someone delivered say your usual milk, bread and £5 or so worth of fresh veg and fruit to your door once a week how long could you last without shopping for any other food at all?
(To make it easy, lets not count loo rolls, booze, nappies and pet food etc, just human food.)
I reckon I could manage four weeks of food for the four of us, though there might be some "interesting" recipes at the end. How about you?
is that the homemakers forum? Why dont you come on there if you are reading it you registered didnt you? confused.com:footie:0 -

No, I meant on one of the other forums here on MSE. I'd forgotten I'd registered on the homemakers forum tbh. So many forums, so little time! I'll pop over for a read asap though.Val.0 -
I have way too much food. It's embarrassing. I have at least 20kg of white and gram flours, at least 5kg pasta, 2kg rice, 10kg dried pulses. Pretty sure there's a 5kg sack of quinoa knocking about somewhere. That's just the big bags which are easier to count. There's only two of us, and my husband doesn't even have a big appetite (I do, though!) It wouldn't be a problem if we actually spent less on food because of it, but I spend the same on food no matter what we've got in, so we've got a lot of nice things, but not a lot of money... I really, really need to do a store cupboard challenge. I think, especially with buying veg, bread and milk, we could go at least 3 months on this stuff!
I also have a disturbingly large vinegar collection for someone who barely uses it. The spice drawer is impressive, but I do actually use them all, so that's not too bad!0 -
I went a bit mad in Tesco a few weeks ago when I saw 500g bags of wholewheat pasta reduced to 22p. I may have cleared the shelf (ahem). There's a good chance my OH and I could live on pasta alone for three meals a day for the next two weeks.MFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000

I know this is resurrecting an old-ish post but
im sort of working on this now just to get defrosted the freezers and the cupboards down , so i can stock right up again im now on week 2 having to only buy bread at the weekend
the combinations will get a bit more strange as this and next week continues i suppose , but fishcakes and rice and baked beans sounds weird but actually tasted quite nice lol
and also i didn't realize like most do when doing a challenge like this that i had a bag of chicken breast fillets lurking or the 4 pork chops id forgot about LOL
wondering what sort of combos anyone else is having doing this0
