My daughter accidently broke my macbook charger and my iphone 4 Homes button was playing up. After contacting Orange about my iphone I was told theyd have to sent it off and get it repaired. I thought - erm No!!
So happenned to be going to town today, so made an apppointment on the genius bar at the apple store and thought id take all my troubled items with me!
Well, the very nice bloke gave me not only a brand new charger for my macbook, but a brand new (althought probably reconditioned, but still looks brand new) iphone4!
No charge at all!
Absololutely chuffed to bits with the service from Apple today!

Not to put a downer on your good mood, but you've already paid for 3 or 4 repairs/replacements in the price of the original item (as they are priced so high to start with), so really to get your monies worth you need to break them both again twice.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yes ive read this before about the genius bars being quite good with after service.0

I've always had the same experience with them.
I bought a second hand PowerBook G4 for peanuts on eBay. It was missing a few buttons and had a software issue. Nipped to the Genius bar, and they sorted it all out for me, replaced the dented fascia too as "we had one out there, so why not!"
Nice and quick, fabulously friendly staff, I really rate them as a company. It's rare to find such flawless customer service. I never used to be an Apple fan, until I visited there with my G4 (which I'd only bought because it was so cheap compared to some similar spec laptops)0 -
I went to the Genius bar in Leicester last week. My Iphone had just died 28 days after the warranty expired but they replaced it with a brand new one anyway! I was really pleased, the guy explained when you buy Apple you buy into the brand. When my Son's Ipod Touch broke at only 3 months old they sent a courier to collect it and then sent a replacement.0

I walked into the Meadowhall Apple Shop recently, no appointment, with a wireless keyboard that had a dodgy key - only to see if they could help as it was nearly 2 years old.
They didn't even try it, no questions - here's a new one. I Was in there less than 10 minutes. Excellent service, they didn't even ask for any details of the original purchase name etc. Try that at PC World and the likes.0 -
It is clear - as others have said that their shockingly high prices allow them to be able to do this.
BUT - it is still fantastic that a company will do that for its customers. Things like this can be the most important element to a company's success. If I could bring myself to part with such large amounts of cash I would probably be an apple customer too.0 -
I've heard nothing but good things about Apple. Always good to hear. What is pi? Where did it come from?0

Just an aside, I bought a Samsung mobile phone back in 2005 and I have no idea how good their CS is because it's still working to this day without a single hitch. I changed the phone (only because I got bored) back in July to another Samsung (makes sense right?) and this time, I still have absolutely no issues with it and so have had no reason to find out how good Samsung CS is. (Albeit I've only had this phone for 3 months.)
The reason (ok, one of the many reasons) I didn't buy into Apple was the amount of issues my friends had with their iphones just not being up to it.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -
Alas I am not as impressed by Apple.
Took my MacBook pro in to a Genius Bar and all they could do was offer me a 10 day computer free period and a £115 lighter bank account for the fault on a laptop just over two years old.
My Applefangirl wife who convinced me to buy it in the first place was not impressed when I asked why it just didn't work, as Apple apparently does.
I am not finding my premium paid on this laptop was money well spent.
At least I have managed to remove the offending part and contrary to the advice given, it seems I can replace the part from ebay for about £37.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0
