You should have had them under the Disability Discrimination Act if that was the case. It's not something I deal with so I'm not sure if you'd still have a case.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

Technically the access was there but it was a barrier control system with the other end of the button in England and nobody ever seemed to monitor and open the gate so i could never get in to reach the disabled parking. It used to be controlled directly by the security staff in the building.
I think that the barrier has now gone. Whether it had something to do with me abandoning the car in front of it and using my chair to get to the building last time i visited, i don't know. They seemed to be more annoyed about me blocking their access rather than themselves blocking mine.0 -

Are you in touch with folks from the NGVFA ?
There are a lot of families in a similar situation. It doesn't seem worth it to get a War Pension a lot of the time. It appears that the worse state you are in when you leave the forces, the more you are penalised by the system. :-/0 -
Who are the NGVFA? I dont think we have been in touch with them yet, although there are so many agencies I have lost track of some of them! Thanks0

Sure you can give them a call/join. They were set up after Gulf 1, hence the name. They are a very friendly bunch of mostly ladies in the office who would be glad to listen to you.
From the About Us page:
"The NGVFA is an independent registered charity supporting those affected by Gulf War 1 and Gulf War 2 (Iraq), the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, and all future desert conflicts.
Those affected who are supported by the NGVFA include:- Veterans (whether ill or not)
- Service personnel who were vaccinated but were non-deployed
- Armed forces personnel who are still serving
- Family members
- Widows / widowers
- Civilians contracted to the armed forces"
