Hi There
Please help, Ive literally received two letters from these PARKING EYE people for parking in the Aldi car park in Feltham.. It states parking for 1hr but I went over 24mins.. They are demanding £40 of me and to pay up by tomorrow, if not then £70.. They have taken photographic evidence of my vehicle entering the car park and leaving, not of ME actually driving this car and parking.. What do I do here? Ive read some of the people here saying not to pay as they are unable to force u to pay, but what if they threaten me with court action, will this affect my credit etc???
Please help as I dont know what to do, im panicking??????

Short answer: You have looked on the Parking Eye longer thread and the info there (from ALL posters, not just 'some') is correct - it is JUST A SCAM. Ignore it till the cows come home. Regular posters need read no further.

Long answer with links:
There's tons on the internet about this issue, look for forum posts on here, pepipoo.com, consumer action group, all of which will tell you that such tickets are unenforceable trash.
Watchdog covered this and their legal bod helpfully confirmed just what we tell everyone to do with fake parking tickets (whether you have 'contravened their rules' or not, and whether they have a pretty picture of your car or not):

:T:rotfl:
The registered keeper will receive a few debt collector letters telling you to pay. Do not panic, do not reply and do not believe the lies on the letters about Court/CCJs/dire consequences! See examples here of what to ignore. You can compare any letter you get and then see which letter will be next:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=2214803
Relax, even if you get more letters (as per our examples, we can predict you'll get the same).
But to be proactive, if the scam letters get tiresome you may like to also report the company and their debt collectors for harassment:
http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/en...=03_harassment
But don't forget this is NOT a debt, NOT a fine, just a mickey mouse ticket. Nothing happens, your credit record is NOT affected, so don't fall for this con.
I know you feel panicky right now but channel that emotion in the right way. Be angry about their illegal scary letters and the retailer who allows them to carry out the scam in that car park.
Tell your friends never to pay a private parking ticket. Spread the word as you happily play snap with each letter that matches our top info thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thank u so much!!!0

The pictures they have would most likely be CCTV pictures.
Ignore Parking Eye and ignore the stores whom "employ" them to mis-manage their car-parks0 -
ignore parking lie/spy,,well known scammers, ignore absolutely everything,,nothing can/will be done to you,,relax, chill, they have zero powers.0

The best way to avoid the hassle is to read the terms and abide by them or go elsewhere.

Might be worth visiting your local council to see what the planning application for that site says. It wouldn't be the first time Aidl have reduced the "free" stay allowed below what the planning permission says.0

Half right ..def go elsewhere ..who ever heard of a supermarket with a 1 hour parking limit ...are they trying to lose customers ??
Absolutely, they would. If people don't like the 1hr limit they think with their feet -- the supermarket will soon learn people aren't happy and change it.0 -
But the easiest thing to do is to just ignore the scammers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sure it's easier than finding somewhere else to park.
It's also pig ignorant, selfish and disrespectful to whomever owns the land that people are using as they wish.
In most cases landowners are employing these companies with their ridiculous scare tactics because shoppers are bending them over a barrell -- and the ones that know factually they are unenforcable continue taking the p* and compeltey disregarding the rules.
People are all to quick to slam the company issuing the fine --- but yet so quick to overlook WHY the "fine" was issued in the first place.
To little is available to land owners.0
