    Well done :)
  • Well done. Had mine through the post this morning, with a £250 limit. Just called them and activated it! So with that, my phone contract and keeping our mortgage, I'm hoping my credit rating will improve!

Hi, has any one been turned down straight away with out the phone call? Or has anyone had the phonecall and then been told no? A friend of ours has just applied and it said would receive a phonecall in next few days.

    Thanks

Hi there, im about to post about my life after bankruptcy discharge. I applied for a vanquis card yesterday, was told I would get a call back today to gather some further info to proceed application. Had a call back 8.45 this morning, asked the additional info, and was told on the phone that my application was accepted, stupid apr but as I intend to use it for my food shopping online and paying it immediately doesnt bother me. I applied with the attitude whats the worse can happen - they turn me down!! I hadnt been able to credit before my bankruptcy!.

What are the additional questions that they ask? They said that someone will call me in the next few days also, and have sent me a credit agreement via email. Is that generally a good sign I'll be accepted?

Yes, it suggests you have been accepted. :)

They just confirm the information you have provided and ask for employment details... Based on my experience, the phone call is basically an attempt to hard sell you payment protection!

Hi Our friend had the phone call and was accepted. Me and my husband both applied 1st dec, were discharged 29th Nov, both had a phonecall back on 2nd to say both accepted. We dont really want any more credit however like everyone else has said will use it to rebuild our credit file. Will be very carefull with the high APR.
  • Vanquis accepted me and I'm not even working but they turned my wife down because she didn't give direct debit details and I did and she's not working.

So if your unemployed make sure you give your direct debit details ;) the lady on the phone told me I won't get accepted if I don't and she was right and said told you :)

Just waiting for my card to come but its a credit builder so ill only use a small amount each month so I know I can pay in full.

They only asked to confirm details what I'd put on my application and to give direct debit details and I was accepted.
I'm not poor i'm just skint

An old thread but I just though it may be of interest to some that I've just had a letter this morning increasing my credit limit to £1500:eek:.

Started with £250 which was increased after four months to £500 and now, after another four months, it's gone through the roof!

Must say I've used it more than I intended but not paid a penny in interest....full amount cleared every month without fail.
Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."
