to be honest l always thought that argos did a straight replacement as they did with two microwaves l bought in the past and my daughter bought a dvd player and they straight away replaced it when it broke down so l didnt really think l'd need to until the guarentee was up, lve now gone and bought another one as l cant afford to wait all that time and l'll let them repair the broken one and keep it as a spare

normally they do, but as xmas is approaching they have started with the temp staff who are doing everything by the book and checking returned for a service route.

i use my printer for my business (epson photo P50), but i purchased 2, so i am using 1 and the other one has been tested to see if it works and then just boxed up in case i need it

It's always worth trying a different Argos. Also it's best to speak to a manger if the customer service can't help.

It's no doubt a cheap printer aimed at occasional consumer use. Using it all the time for business is probably why it has packed up. I think you'll have to be patient - if you admitted to using it for business purposes then they probably wouldn't have to fix it at all.
  • I'm not sure that business use will affect the warranty but it also doesn't mean you'll get a faster repair time. This is why businesses have on site support for critical equipment. For a small business this might not be cost effective but it depends on how many prints are being produced. This might be a case where dealing with the manufacturer might be quicker. The important thing though is to have a back up solution. When I had a small business I used to have a back up printer, though this depends on the income from the business as to whether it's worthwhile.

    Same here... infact I have 5 :)

    2x 24"
    1x 44"
2x Desktop (one hasn't been used in a while though)

But last Dec. (I only had 1x 24" at this time) the same part in both large printers went, the desktop packed up and the other wasn't actually printing anything ---- what are the odds ?

But to op, if your using these for business -- get a second one!! If it is a fundamental part of your operation even a few days out could cause problems. A used to know a chap who was in the mug sublimation business, based in a small shopping center kiosk, but he only had one machine. One day there was a surge of power or something (or perhaps a fault in the item I don't know) but it conked out leaving him with no ability to continue trading at that time, by the time he got a new one had already lost thousands!!
You don't want to find yourself in a similar situation!
