Talk Talk cold calling

Recently I had Talk Talk knock at my door, the salesman told me I could now get free broadband in my area! he never identified himself as being from the company, and barged his way in my flat after asking about a table. That was no indication to come in! I just let him ramble till he went, and no I did not give nay important details or part with money, told him I was skint, and I would of said get out, but was rather intimidated by his behaviour. I only answered the door thinking it was someone else!
I know he was genuine as I spoke to the company after confirming they do this type of thing. I also complained to the service provider as well.
I just wanted to say even genuine sales reps try and lie their way in!
He was also with 2 non official looking people. Not a very good standard to set!

Well no genuine sales people barge they're way in round here(dont tar all with the same brush), we get a few from energy sales to driveway paving firms. Maybe you need to be a bit firmer at the door and say no thanks.0

Was round my In-Laws on Christmas day last year, and a couple of Talk-Talk salesman were hammering on their door that day. My Father-in-Law went spare at them.
Person down the road from him said they called whilst they were having their Xmas dinner.
We had Talk-talk (I think it was them - I was extremely "brief" with them as I was in a particularly foul mood having my only lie in for several weeks disturbed) hammering on our door at 0810 a couple of Sunday mornings back.
Apparently many of them are not Talk-Talk employees but freelancers flogging stuff on behalf of them.0 -

I know talk-talk do have door-to-door salesmen, but are you sure these was genuine and not some form of scam? 3 people seems a little odd....... was they insight at all times?
But I have to agree with the above poster, not all salesmen are like that. We've signed up with Virgin at the door in the past and the chap was very nice and non-agressive in his sales tactics. Also, the same with EON, we changed our electricity provider as a result of a door visit (not on the spot but shortly after as her left leaflets) and again the chap was very good, never pushed when we said we will consider it but won't be signing anything on our doorstep.
The second they came in your house though, you should have picked up the phone and dialled the police and not put the phone down until they had left. You do need to make sure your never in this situation again.0 -
may I suggest a MK1 baseball bat kept close at hand next time.;)0

you can usually spot a sales person a mile off so I dont even bother opening door. Few times I do and get caught out my nose spots another sales person as I at the door. "no thanks not interested" is my reply "but I haven't come to sell you anything" just catch last part as door is being shut. Then off I go back to whatever I was doing
My be rude but I dont care, they rude to ignore my notice and I dont want to waste my time or their's0 -
If it is winter invoice TalkTalk for the loss of heat whilst the door was open.0
