Make a note of your KIS 2011 activation code. Download and save Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Unistall Kaspersky Internet Security 2011(via the Control Panel > Programs), re-boot and then install Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Use your 2011 activation code for the new version.

check what it's like before reinstalling kaspersky

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware] C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe /install /silent

    uninstall the nokia software

    disable these services using services.msc

Maybe it's just me, but I always figure it's best to leave the power cable connected and use the mains Earth to ground myself by keeping touch of the PC case when doing upgrades.

(as long as the PC itself isn't switched on of course...!)

A good idea, of course make sure the power socket switch is off so only the earthing remains connected to the PC..

might be called winpcap in programs and features, it's a way of capturing packets of data going through your network card, usually comes with a utility to sniff out information.

O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - CACE Technologies, Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe

could you describe how the machine is slow? and was it fast when kaspersky was uninstalled?

I asked about the firewall because the alg service is still running, which I would expect to be off (set to manual) if kaspersky's firewall is on

somud should appear in programs, if not, you could set your homepage to something else in IE, and then fix these 2 in hijackthis

Thanks for the additional info really appreciate it

Its running ok at the minute, it seems

Its pretty much every day, it will just seem to struggle with opening/running of multiple things i.e I might be downloading, while listening to music and internt browsing, but somtimes more regularly now, I cn hear the tower working, as if its trying hard to process everything and things just slow down on the computer.

Just opening a browser now, can take 1-2 mins longer than it used to!

opening a browser should be instantaneous

if it continues, pare it down to the bare minimum, no AV, windows firewall, no winpcap, no toolbars

try a wired connection in case it's wireless related.

create a kaspersky boot cd, update with a wired connection, and scan with that

    another log would be useful
