Absolutely loath the new layout. Can't narrow down the specifics of your bank statement without having to 'switch' things on and off and fed up to back teeth with playing let's hunt around the system. It's putting me right off of staying as an online customer. To cap it all my 83 year old father who had just got the hang of the old style layout has spat his dummy out and gone back to paper statements because he can't see the narrow lines and small print!! Pretty it might be, but easy to use it 'aint. This all seems to have happened since some other savings companies came under Nationwide's umbrella is this because Portman etc., don't like the way their new owners do things? - I want the old Nationwide back. :-(

Mine has gone live this morning and whilst admitting to not liking change I really don't like it. I've got loads of online accounts at various institutions and this is the worst of the lot aesthetically IMHO. Can't comment ont he technicals but when I wanted to see my CC payment date it developed an error and then threw me to a rewards page.

I got the new look today, and overall I quite like it. Just wished they used the full/detailed statement view rather than the minimal one by default.

Wonder if you can't change this view in 'your preferences'? I'm going to play around and see. Quite like the current (new?) online layout; it's not great, but functional.
  • I have used the card reader and pin for ages but this new site is nothing but a waste of time and money, it is probably where they have put the interest that we used to have on our flexi accounts! The site is harder to see and definitely not an improvement on the old one, come on Nationwide listen to your customers or I for one is
    walking!!!!!!!

Not keen on the new look. It seems to be trying to be pretty, but seems to fail at that.

It seems to be harder generally to get information about transactions, and regular tasks seem to take longer.

I have a few accounts at NW, and was looking to transfer my main account there as I used to like the online banking. Will be sticking where I am for now. :(
  • I agree with some of the other comments about the new site,
but, I don`t mind change if things improve!

It is possible to customise the first page you go to, back to a list of your accounts, but it is all so cluttered!! And you can log on without a card reader.

Also, the biggest omission, (deliberate?) is the removal of the messages tab. You now have to phone someone up to ask a question, or have I`ve missed something?
  • Ok, just found messages under, " browse products and apply" , Logical??

Top of the screen where it says your name, next to that it says "My Messages". Quite logical I would say.

i have just had to start using the card reader ... its such a pain ....
Look to the left on the log in screen and you can choose to log in with you memorable data. The card reader is a pain.
