Assuming we'll never get it in real life, let's have the referendum here.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Ha I wondered when this topic would turn up....Should be 3 options maybe , stay in on full membership as we are today, Leave completely , or remain only as EEA & EFTA members? just a thought...Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0

I think no body is worried if EU runs as a trading consortium (which it was originally planned for).

Free trade is great. Free trade where all the benefits and more are swallowed up by faceless undemocratic bureaucrats is bad.
For the vote I assumed leaving the EU would mean we remain in the EEA, just like Norway. Or, be a member of EFTA and have billateral agreements as Switzerland has. Either way a free trade agreement would be a no-brainer. We should go back to what was originally voted on, a common market of free trade. Overall I think we should stay in, but on renogotiated terms. Trade block, with some common policy but more ability to veto the rubbish, and no more expansion into the east.0

I voted no in the original EEC referendum and remember at the time never once meeting or hearing of anyone who had voted yes. I have very big suspicions of these government referenda with regards the outcomes. I just don't, and never have, trusted politicians. We're not going to get one about the united states of Europe anyway as the politicians know exactly what the result will be unless it were "massaged"!
I would still vote no, there was nothing wrong with the organisations we were party to then, EFTA etc.0 -

The EEA and EFTA members still have to make a contribution to the EU budget without being able to negotiate the contents and detail of EU legislation, and without receiving benefits such as the exemption from customs requirements and costs.Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0 -

I also voted no in the original referendum and would again. I think all the no votes were taken away and burnt:mad:
It has cost this country so much since joining and not just in monetary terms.
Why is it that we are the only ones stupid enough to conform to all their rules and regulations, whilst the other members just choose to comply with laws that are beneficial to them?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I just want to know when all those politicians, journalists and broadcasters who tried so hard to get us to join the Euro are going to be forced to confess their wrong headedness. In public. Preferably on TV.
