I have it on my android...

Prefer the android cos like some things I have are PDF's....and the K3 didn't like PDF's :(

I had the K3 when it first came out...sold it...

Loved it though. Just got the android for the same price and thought 'I don't need two e-readers' - plus you can do so much more with an android phone..

I have my kindle app on my phone set to parchment or whatever it's called as background and find that fine...fine for in bed (the kindle gave me too much arm ache)....

    Hope that helps

That's what's so good about Calibre... my cousin wrote a novel and sent it to me as a PDF. I used Calibre to convert it to 'Kindle format' and now I'm reading it just like any professionally published book ;)

£44-ish depending on the current conversion rate from $79.

Plus VAT, customs clearance charge and import duty?

Yep - all avoided if you happen to be there on a visit of course (personal allowance).

Hey I never said it was a price the poster could get, just the cheapest I'd found ;)

I bought a Kindle when they came out last year and sold it a fortnight later. Couldn't be doing with it and couldn't bear the idea of getting rid of my real books.

Who said you had to get rid of your paper books? My 1000+ are still firmly on their shelves; same for music, I've still got all my vinyls. And I still buy some (be it p-books or vinyls)

Why would you do that? I still buy real books despite having a Kindle. I also still read magazines, newspapers, stuff on the net and the info on cereal packets as well. They are all just different mediums for consuming the real point of the exercise - the written word.

I'm thinking about buying one too but like you , i'm wondering about the actual experience. It's a shame you can't try before you buy.

They had Kindle set up in our local Currys , with books on. Only thing was you couldnt test, was the weight because it was attached to a security tag.
