Advice on buying a clearance phone?

Hi there

I am getting a new contract which comes with a new phone which is a 'clearance' phone. I was thinking about selling it on ebay but it mentions it may not come with the original box or other accessories.

Has anyone had experience of buying a clearance phone and could they tell me what it usually comes with? i.e. is original box and other things included?

We bought one last year from The Link - it came in a plain purple box but was effectively new with all the other kit in the box (I suspect they repackage them to be able to sell at a lower price without hitting their main market - only people willing to take a chance will buy one as they do say it may not come with all the kit it would normally). Not sure how this would affect the resale value. My hunch is that this is a deal with the distributors to shift older stock in volume - why would you go to the trouble of advertising clearance deals (and make up special graphics) if you only had 1 or 2 to sell...

I don't know, but would think that as long as you did not advertise it new on ebay (put it as used and you could then explain in your blurb on ebay that it is "as good as new" with whatever it comes with) then you should be okay?

Thanks for your reply. I think I will go for a clearance once and see how it comes. Hopefully it will have most of the stuff and then I can advertise on ebay with the caveat about not being brand new.

it is literally random, me and my dude both ordered clearence w810i from e2save, mine came with EVERYTHING his was just the box, no accessories
