Like I said before, sometimes they just stop your TCs completely, other times they deduct a certain amount weekly if you can show hardship would occur if they stopped payments altogether. Are they working from the £36K now then as you mention the new figure needs amending?
  • they have all figures and the figrues for 2011-2012 and my payments havent changed ??

Since last year when they thought you were on £17K? What does your award notice say? What is the income they have on there - sorry, I'm getting completely confused now!!

If the 10-11 income was entered as an actual figure then the helpline cannot amend it. What they would do is send a referral to the tax credit office to see if they can change the income figure however the timescale for them to deal with the referral is currently 15weeks. If you have provided a current year estimate of 24500 then this is what the claim should be based on however because they think your income for last year was only 17000 then this is what the award will be based on.
  • Hi lorelai34 , they had the wrong income year end figures for 10 -11 they used 17,812 to work my entilement out and in fact it was 36,890 do you know if this will take 15 weeks to amend ? do you think this will show an overpayment ??
