Flutterby hope you have a safe trip,
Well yesterday was not a day I wish to repeat ever, DS went off for his interview re leaving school, didn't hear from him all day, then at just gone 4pm the police were on the doorstep :eek:
He'd been hit by a car, the air ambulance was called & I was blue lighted to Ashford Hospital as there was a head injury & they thought he may have to go to London!! I do not think I have ever been so scared in my life. Got there & he was all strapped up on a body board with his head packed & padded & being rushed of for ct scans & xrays. Fortunately it was just a concussion, cuts, bruises and a broken collar bone, finally got home at midnight, but needless to say did not sleep well, Have spoken to him this morning & he's feeling a bit rough (his words) but has managed a cooked breakfast :) & if all is well we should be able to bring him home this afternoon :j:j He's more upset that they cut his fave outfit off of him,
anyhow, hope you all have a good day x

    Hugs, spoons & hi5's as usual x

    jaxx

Oh Jaxx - big (HUGS) for you - I do know just how you were feeling, and it's absolutely horrible. Thank goodness he seems to have escaped reasonably lightly. Not a day to repeat, as you say.
Having a cleaning day here as DS will be bringing DGD for half-term tomorrow - really looking forward to that! So, kitchen looks pristine once more and the bathroom too. Breadmaker is doing its thing so house smells lovely!
have loads of ironing to catch up with but maybe not today. I am out on various errands from 2pm until about 9.30pm so this morning is all I have. Need to get the beds made up and the rooms vacuumed and dusted too. DH has taken doggies out so now is the moment to get the hard floors mopped before they return!
Hope you all have good days. Take care.

    Morning (just about!) all

I am off work again with this bl*ody labrynthitis - had to come home sick yesterday, couldn't even drive so had to get a lift and get OH to pick up the car later which was a pain. Today I just stayed in bed. Don't even feel guilty this time - I can't teach when the room is spinning so much I can't properly stay standing upright!

I am really excited because I just ordered OH's Christmas/birthday present! Last year I got him an electric guitar and accessories and it went down an absolute storm, so this year I wanted to get him an acoustic. Didn't realise how expensive decent ones are - and don't want to get him a cheapo one because the electric I got him was ok but wasn't that expensive and he's already ready to replace it with a better one - so I want to get him something that will last.

It's joint Christmas and birthday so could be a bit more expensive but even so, around £400 is a heck of a lot of money for me to pay out all at once. However - today I bit the bullet - went to the website of the really good local shop where I'd picked out the one I want - and discovered that there is an Arts Council Scheme called 'Take It Away', where if you are under 25 (which I am for another year!) you can get interest free credit on an instrument and pay over 9 months, with a deposit. So I have paid a £50 deposit and am now looking at £40 a month for 9 months - which is SO much more affordable to me than £400 all paid out at once - and I've been able to get him a really nice guitar :) now just need to decide whether to give it to him for his bday in Nov or to wait until Christmas.

Anyway, maybe credit isn't that OS but it IS completely interest free and I actually feel pretty chuffed about not having to pay out a huge chunk right now, so I am really thrilled.

Dinner tonight is take two with the frozen pork chops, let's see if I can separate them this time. Making an interesting-looking pork and rosemary pasta dish from my new Gino book. Also going to make a Victoria sponge this afternoon as I've been craving it and it will be a nice treat for OH who has had two 6am starts at work in the last two days. Yay!

Hope everyone has a lovely day xx
