TalkTalk Contract Length
Bellagio
I recently signed up (in September) to a 12 month Talk Talk essentials contract which includes off peak calls and broadband with a 40gig limit. My live date was 10th October and so far so good. I then had to call their Customer Service line for something unrelated and this is when the fun and games started. The guy just happened to mention when confirming my details that I was on an 18 month contract! I questioned this as I know I had signed up (online) for a 12 month contract (the whole reason I went with Talk Talk was because of the shorter contract length). My 'Welcome Pack' clearly states contract length as 12 months. I then emailed Talk Talk and they again said I was on an 18 month contract. I then called their 'disconnections' dept. to say how unhappy I was and the guy told me not to worry & he would make sure I was put back onto a 12 month contract as that is what I had signed up for (and my welcome pack states). I then felt happier but just to be on the safe side I waited 4 days and then emailed the Cust. Services dept who yet again insist I'm on an 18 moth contract!!! I again called the disconnection dept who now tell me that they can't transfer me to 12 months but have made some 'notes' on my account stressing that it's actually a 12 month contract! I've asked for written proof (not email). My main reason for writing is to warn those that signed up for the same package last month (£3.25 for 1st 12 months) to call Talk Talk and check if you believe you signed up for a 12 month contract as I'm guessing they have signed a fair few customers up to 18 month contracts when they thought they were signing up for 12 months. Also to make matters worse Talk Talk don't seem to let you see your contract length or expiry date online (you have to call or email them). This whole process has annoyed me immensely as after all of their negative press coverage I was nervous about joining them in the first place but thought I'd give them benefit of the doubt!. I'm beginning to wish I had stuck with my initial instincts.

Off shore contact centres then?, as usual........ Chief Exec dido.harding@talktalkplc.com her ceo team sorted my problems out with their off shore third parties, infact they like the feedback of customers whom get messed about by their third party contractors as it empowers them, copy the email to graham.howell@ofcom.org.uk one of the top management people at UK telecom regulatorSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies...
