My SIL just got neices dres from a bridal shop - She is very big for her age, so wouldn't have been able to get a first communion dress to fit. It was £25 - so may be worth having a look around your local bridal shops. Claires Assec, had lots of bridal asses last week when I was in - you could maybe just get something nice for her hair there. No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Ebay is the best place I got a communion dress with all the frills skirt with loads of layers complete with a veil and headdress a cape bag and boots and long satin gloves all for £25 a bargin communion dresses have been worn sinbce the 18th century the dress simbolise the robes jesus worn and the hreadress the crown of thorns and the veil the tablecloth from the last supper thats why those clothes are worn you can get a cheap dress and all the accessories you can get a pair of girls long satin gloves or short ones for as little as £3 on ebay I have seen veils for the same pricein my church the girls had to wear a veil so there was no choice some churches in the usa have all the girls wear gloves
But if you buy a dress wear it dont put in on for a hour and then take it off wear it for the day and get your use from it.

I bought my daughters dress in the sale in BHS for £18 - I then looked around for shoes Woolworths had a lovely range last year around March for £8.
I am now selling my daughters dress to someone else at her school for their daughter this year so hopefully will get some money back.
A friend of mine hired a dress for her daughter from a wedding shop - it was really pretty.
My daughter didn't wear a veil - just a pretty hair band with roses on which I got in debenhams.
Good Luck - too be honest they weren't that fussey in my daughter school - but all the girls chose to wear dresses.0 -
I got my daughters from ebay. It was very reasonable £10 plus postage. I got shoes from woolies, pretty little satin pump type things, and also a hairband. I too didn't bother with a veil, or a bag, as they have to hold their candles anyway.
She looked lovely, and I will probably be able to resell it.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Because the dress was floor length, I got her satin ballet shoes for £7 from a dance shop.
She didn't have a bag because it would have been a waste of money - they could only carry them into and out of the church, in the church we would have had to have looked after it.
EDIT : This is the one I got for my daughter, but it's £54.99 now - it may come down in price but the seller was really good, I paid one day and received the dress the next.

The dresses are different, but similar:)
The postage is either $40 or $50 for overseas buyers, not sure how much that would work out in £'s.
Funnily enough I was listing some things on Turbo Lister last night and the dress was one of them (am i allowed to say that? lol)Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
