Talk to the CAB or one of the debt charities.

And change your bank account and get your benefits paid in to the new one. Then Wonga can't pinch your benefits payments when they go in.

(Did you not have a payday after losing your job that you could have paid your "payday loan" with?)

Open a new basic bank account so they can't take any money.
    Contact the CCCS for advice.

sell anything and everything and get it paid off, they aren't going away...

open anaccount with another bank entirely and get your benefits paid into that.

Yep, Wonga will clear your account and have no mercy so the FIRST thing you should do is open a new bank account and get any wages or benefits paid into there...you're then in the driving seat and can negotiate terms.

Don't waste time with emails and phone calls or buy any "agreement" you come to with them, they'll ignore it totally and clean out your account.

    Good luck.

    Just my 2p, but

    1) sell everything you can do without straight away. You won't get the best prices, but don't hold out for the best as delaying a sale for a week for the sake of a score will cost you more in interest - pay up FAST

    2) Wonga will take money from your account. Not really 'pinching' it imho, as it is their money, but you need to keep cash to live

    3) Contact the charities as above

    4) Whilst talking to the CAB, discuss the owed wages. Even if dismissed, you should still be paid for work you have done for them, so get that back and ask CAB about how to go about it. They know this stuff well.

  • i have just had the same happen to me, took out a long back in may got made redundant so could payback, got a agreement set up with them to take a set amount each month, having gone back through my records they took nothing. i started a new job and have just got my 1st pay cheque in nearly 6 mths and found that they have taken the full amount leaving me with virtually nothing. I know have to find some way to borrow the money in order to pay my rent, bills etc.

I would never ever suggest anybody ever uses them again.

Why not? Because they took the money you've owed them for 6 months?
