i suppose these 6000 odd listings http://listings.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsocmdZListingItemList?sofocus=so&sbrftog=1&socmd=ListingItemList&catref=C3&fcl=3&from=R2&satitle=&sacat=2288%26catref%3DC6%26curcat%3Dtrue&a15962=20679&a15964=-24&a10244=-24&alist=a15962%2Ca15964%2Ca15965%2Ca10244%2Ca3801&pfmode=1&reqtype=2&gcs=1077&pfid=1205&pf_query=&floc=1&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&sadis=200&fpos=SG4+9LS&ga10244=10425&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp= are infringing rights are they?
From the FACT website which references the BBFC site
http://www.fact-uk.org.uk/site/about/faq.htm#18What is the current legislation regarding the sale of foreign DVDs?
This can be confusing. In a complex area, it is safe to say that the sale of foreign DVDs could be allowed, but the trader must ensure that the product complies with the guidelines as laid down by the British Board of Film Censorship (BBFC).
The following passage is taken directly from the BBFC website https://www.bbfc.co.uk
“ A foreign DVD offered for sale in the UK is likely to be illegal under the Video Recordings Act 1983 unless its content (including any additional material) has been classified by the BBFC.
“ The DVD must also be labelled in accordance with Video Recordings (Labelling) Regulations 1985 & 1998 (including the unique registration number). You would also be advised to contact FACT to ensure that there are no copyright issues.”
It is highly unlikely that a DVD title that has not had a United Kingdom release would comply with the above.
In selling such a product, the trader would be infringing both the Video Recordings Act 1983, and the Video Recordings (Labelling) Regulations 1985.
Naturally, I ignore the above and sell on my non-Region 2 titles when I have no further need for them0 -
i'm sorry but if ebay.co.uk were seriously (the key word being seriously) breaching any f.a.c.t. policy, then f.a.c.t. and ebay would have had the majority of those items removed. please also bear in mind that region 1 dvds have appeared on ebay.co.uk since ebay started...an awful long time for ebay to annoy f.a.c.t without consequence.0

I am not disputing that Region 1 DVDs are sold on ebay, Amazon, buy and sell, etc. I am pointing out where the BBFC stand on the issue as requested in your post0

Not wanting to delve further into this but I believe enterprisesdvd are based in the US that sell to people in the UK. They have a PO Box contact address in the UK.0

it looks like you can re-sell region 1 items, provided there is an equivilent region 2 uk release that has been classified by the bbfc. it could be that the original poster had a item that has not yet been classified in the uk.
still very murky though considering the uk/usa have different boards classifing their own countries releases.0 -
The DVD that I was selling was 24 season 6 premiere DVD which contains the first 4 episodes of the new season plus 12 minutes from the 5th episode
Cannot see FOX releasing the DVD in the UK personally
I purchased 2 DVD's, one for myself and one to sell on ebay
Not seen many companies selling this DVD apart from CD WOW and movietyme maybe because they don't think it may be a big seller0 -
they are selling on amazon for £40

Thats cheap, paid about £7.99 each from CD WOW as I had some discount codes and sold my spare DVD on ebay for £16 which was good as it means my one cost me even less0
