DVD bought from ebay - advice please

Hi all, I bought a DVD for a XMAS pressie back in September 06 which has only just been opened now. The boxset was wrapped with selophane but when it was opened it was damp on the inside, had mould growing inside the box and some sort of fleas !!! The dvds are in plastic covers and seem to play ok on my laptop although I've only tried one so far
It has Chinese writing on the back so I'm unsure now if it was a copy - it was advertised as a factory sealed boxset and brand new. The seller was a UK seller but hasnt sold anything since Oct 06 and has nothing listed now but just wanted to know if I can do anything about this now via payapl or is it too late ?
Thanks in advance

A long shot, but I guess you can get in touch with the seller, and hold out for some hope that he might agree to resolving this!
To be honest though, I do think it is a long shot, but nothing ventured nothing gained! 4 months is along time.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Cheers all, I might try contacting him but won't hold my breath.2p off is still 2p off!0

A friend purchased a boxset from China and extactly the same thing happened as when he opened the box their was mold and the box stunk. Nearly all DVD's that come from China are fakes even when the sellers say they are imports as they are cheap DVD-9 copies0

It is very well known that ebay is inundated with fake DVD's. Some good guides that folk have written, pity they are not as prominent as some of the scammers.

I listed a DVD on ebay and it was removed under the VERO programme probably because someone reported me for selling fakes, the thing that peeved me off is that the DVD was a brand new and sealed region 1 DVD.
I emailed ebay to say i don't understand why it has been removed as it does not breach their policy and after a few emails they said "even if it can be purchased in the retail market it does not guarentee it can be sold on ebay" and they still insist it breached the counterfit goods policy
I have to say ebay is run by a bunch of muppets who don't know their !!!! from their elbow and they keep on replying with the same automated junk responses
Don't think ebay actually review items that get removed to see if they are genuine or not as they are only concerned about how much money they can make0 -
Slowen, you're not actually allowed to resell region 1 dvds in the UK. Region 1 dvds can only be imported for personal use, not for resale, as it is seen as an infringement of the UK Distributor's rights. Chances are that's why yours was pulled from Ebay, as it did infringe the UK Distributor's rights. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.
