Dog beater gets clobbered himself

Just seen this on another site. I havent watched the video though. I know people will say dont take the law in your own hands, but Im pleased this lot did.

A man has appeared in court today charged with two counts of animal cruelty after footage of an alleged dog attack was posted onto Facebook – prompting a vigilante mob in Grimsby.
[Video: Dog abuse footage- may be distressing]
The video shows a man beating the white dog with poles before a woman in a bra and trousers attempts to whip it with a towel. It is later punched twice and kicked by a man who shuts it outside.
Resident Michael Currie, 23, posted the video on the social networking site at around 5pm on Tuesday, whereupon crowds gathered outside a house in Stanley Street, Grimsby – allegedly punching a man and smashing a window.
Mr Currie, who claims to have filmed it, posted the footage online so people would “report it” and “get something done”. It quickly went viral and gathered a number of incendiary comments.
Shortly after a crowd of around 50 people gathered on Stanley Street, where a man was allegedly attacked and escorted from the house by police at about 9.20pm. The dog was removed from the house ten minutes later and is being looked after by the Blue Cross animal welfare charity.“Police were called to an address on Stanley Street in Grimsby just after 8pm on Tuesday, October 18, following reports of disorder,” said a Humberside police spokesman.
“Officers attended the area quickly and took robust action, arresting a 36-year-old resident from the address in connection with alleged animal cruelty offences and removing a dog from the address.”
“An investigation is now underway into the animal cruelty and the disorder at the address. We are also keen to establish if the disorder was a direct result of something that was posted online or if those who read the information took matters into their own hands.”

Of course, having a dog beating piece of filth battered as a result of his so called secret actions being made public is against the law.

But if he hadn't beaten the dog, he wouldn't have been filmed now, would he?

Typical coward, relying on high fences to hide the fact that he would only open the back door to have a go at a dog cowering everytime the handle was turned. Including when a small child is in the area.

Brave next door neighbour for filming and putting it online. Hopefully he was helped to move elsewhere to protect him - or he is ten times the size of the huge fat bloke battering the dog, so wasn't scared of him in the first place.

And then they moan when animals turn and bite children who have learned this sort of behaviour is normal?

I think the most sickening thing was the poor dog still wanted to go in. Even after being punched and kicked.

That mob was wrong in what it did, (but I'm sure most of us are secretly cheering).

Poor little dog, it just wanted to go inside in the warm.

You have to wonder how they treat their kid as well...

I couldn't watch the video either, but was cheering loudly! I don't like mob rule, but I don't like bullying either, or cruelty, so hopefully they both got what they deserved.

I'm confused, did the guy who filmed it JUST put it on facebook or did he take it to the police and make a complaint himself?
  • Hi, sorry to say I live in Grimsby I was on the FB site when he posted last night and he had sent the footage to the RSPCA and they were being slow in acting, he also conatacted the police who told him they couldnt do anything and he needed to wait for RSPCA
the footage is filmed over time its not a one of day of filming thing and it is both the woman and man who are cruel to the dog and in one shot a young boy is watching his father go outside and punch the poor dog..
posting the footage on facebook meant that the police and RSPCA were forced to act yet the guy who filmed it is being investigated for provoking a riot with his actions.. he didnt provoke a riot he just posted the footage and the address the rest was up to the decent people of the town who descended on the street within a couple of hours.. it took all this for the police and RSPCA to finally step in and rescue this dog even though both authorities were aware of the situation!

makes me so mad.. sadly too many around here have dogs that never see anything other than their own backyard

I watched this on FB on Tuesday, that poor dog only wanted to be warm and it did nothing to warrent the beatings it got, was shaking everytime someone opened the door.

Apparently it was reported to the RSPCA several times, but they did nothing about it, and even told people to stop calling (obviously don't know how true that is), so the neighbour decided to try and help, and good on him for doing it.

Hopefully the dogs owner has been taught a lesson, and will think twice about how he treats animals in the future now he's been on the receiving end (although fingers crossed he gets a lifetime ban on keeping any)
