orange 24mth contract
Hi,
This monday i went into a phone 4 u shop, lookin out for a brand new iPhone 4Gs. I was previously on o2, and my 18 month contract had finished. So I speak to the guy in the shop, and we settle on a Orange monthly plan, - Fine, all good.
So I go home, and ring o2 customer care asking for a PAC code as i want to keep my same number, only to be told that i'm still in a contract. I was slightly confused to say the least.
4 months ago a lady from o2 rang me and said that i wasn't using "that much" data, as I was on a 1-month rolling contract, with 1gb usage. We talked for a bit and agree to move my payment down to £15, which allowed a little less data, therefore saving me money (winner!) But now i find out, the deal she put me on, is a 12-month contract, with lower data... which i didn't agree with.
Phones4u wont let me take my phone back, as the "14-day cooling off period" does not apply for in-store buyings, only over the internet or telephone.
So now im stuck with a 12 month o2 contract, which I didn't/don't want, and a 24 month Orange contract.
o2 can't cancel it unless i buy my way out, and Orange wont take the phone back..
Can anyone please help?
Many thanks,
Jack

You don't have any case against p4u.
You do have a case against O2. Complain, demand the transcript of the telephone call or any other proof that you agreed to 12-month contract. Demand cancellation if they cannot prove that you agreed to the contract.
Don't waste your time on telephone calls. Complain in writing via mail or e-mail: http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=305,E=0000000003328651516,K=8675,Sxi=10,question=ref%28User%29:str%28Mobile%29,CASE=13668
And learn your lesson about all telephone conversations with telephone agents. Even if you don't receive paper bills you could have easily checked your O2 contract by logging into your O2 online account.0
