What does "valid until" mean?

I have just been into dominos pizza with a voucher for one 9-inch pizza for £1.50. The terms and conditions state "valid until 20/10/2011" i.e. today but I have been told this means it is no longer valid as it ran out yesterday (19/10/11). Surely this is wrong and it is still valid today? I am going to complain to dominos but would like others opinions first.
Thanks

I would think it meant valid until midnight on that date..So midnight tonight but then I guess they don't agree.
I am sure I have used other vouchers on the valid date.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

It is really up to them what the voucher means as they are free to accept or decline any form of payment.
It could be easily argued that the voucher was "valid until" 20th Oct and now that this date has occured it is no longer valid.0 -
Does it say the offer can be removed at any time by the manager or its the managers discretion to remove it.0

I had this with a voucher for a beauty treatment (for Mrs H!)
But that only gave a month, not a date. "Valid until July"
They (at first) refused to honour it in the July saying it expired at the end of June. But they still went ahead as a "goodwill gesture".
I couldn't find any legislation to support either opinion.
We get Healthy Start vouchers which say "Use by" with a date. They are valid ON that date.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
Valid until 20/10/2011 is reached, at which point in time it becomes invalid is how I'd understand it.0

The problem is that it doesn't state at what point on the 20th it is valid until. I'm struggling to think of any situation where "valid until", "use by", "please pay by" does not include the date in question. If they'd said "before" then it's clear. But they haven't

Thanks for all your replies, it's a bit of a tricky one. Have sent an email of complaint to dominos so will keep you all posted on the outcome! ...fingers crossed for a free pizza!!0

I've gotta agree with dominos here, with no time stated i'd assume the voucher was valid up to the 20th therefore not on the 20th. Once the 20th has arrived it is no longer valid (ie voucher is active until and inclusive of 19th 23:59:59)0
