Hi,

Basically I'm after some advice about what to do regarding my 02 12 month contract which is a discount 500 minutes and 500 texts for a discounted rate of 25 quid from 35 quid.

In April (when the contract starts) last year I accepted the said deal under the condition from me that they took out 25 pounds from my account every month via direct debit instead of giving me 120 pounds credit on my account (as I like to have my finances in control months in advance- boring I know:)). Needless to say O2 after the first month didn't do this despite agreeing to my wish for a flat rate of 25 quid a month, and basically said that I would have to ring up every month if I wanted to pay off any money whilst my account is in credit. Which I have done for the duration of the contract, and every time I have been berated/mocked by O2's operators for doing this.

Last month I rang them up to see if I could pay off the contract and get a new retention deal from them to make me happy. They stated that I could not do anything on the retentions front- but passed my on to disconnections who hung up on me after a few minutes of keeping me on hold. Therefore I'm going have to wait till March for O2 to even talk to me about a new deal.

I would like to be just pay a flat rate of 25 quid (or less preferably) for my contract every month. Has anyone got any ideas on how to approach O2 now/or in the future about the matter? The problem is that I can't find any contracts that match 500 texts/minutes a month without having to agree to a long term contract if I have to sit out my contract until March for retention deal match- any ideas on that would also be greatly appreciated:).

Thanks,

Ed

    Hiya,

There is a retentions tariff on the go just now giving 500 Anytime X Net Mins and 500 Texts each month for £25.00, however O2 have new computer software instaled in the retentions dept which makes the decison on whether to keep a customer or give them the above mentioned deal.

Give them a call in March to find out!

Thanks;). Would I get that discounted?- I'm a fairly heavy user of texts and WAP some months and so do they take that into account? Also does the fact that I've been a customer of theirs for five years?

I'm sure that is the discouted price as its normally £35.00 per month. The new computer system at O2 Retentions will determain whether to offer you the tariff or not, being a customer for many years should help you!

The 35 quid a month offer to new customers is now 600 minutes and 900 texts on an 18 month contract- but the 500 minutes and 500 texts is 40 quid a month to a new customer. So in thoery I'm hoping for some more texts and a sensible attitude from O2- especially as the account has been in credit for 9 months.
