No charge at all when I moved from Vivaciti LLU (was actually a very good resold Tiscali wholesale product)

    thx for info steve,

i just visited sky website and entered a few details and got this

"Unfortunately we are unable to transfer your phone services to Sky without a Sky Talk phone line - don’t worry - we can arrange a new Sky phone line for you today.

If you choose to take Sky Talk Line Rental with a new phone number, we could have your TV, Talk, Broadband and Line Rental up and running in just 2-3 weeks."

So , not only will i need to pay for a " new sky talk phone line" i will also lose my current tel number !!

    not good !!!! :o

iPlayer will run on any connection as long as the line speed is sufficient. It's very unlikely that you'll be able to go direct from one LLU supplier to another-normally a return to donor is the only reliable method. This is free but requires a 12m line BT line rental contract. Once back on BT, you can take your broadband from Sky if you wish.

Just been chatting online with a sky rep regarding tel and broadband transfer,

    1) There is a £10 charge to sky for moving from LLU to Sky

    2) I can keep my exisiting tel number

    3) 2 to 3 weeks estimated transfer time

    4) Current offer to me , of 1st 6 months at half price

    5) 12 month contract

I'll believe it when I see it-lots of stories on here that Sky can promise to do a direct LLU transfer, but very few seem to work out in practice. The reps rarely have any technical grounding and will say whatever is needed to get their comm.
Come back and let us know how you get on.

I changed from a BT line rental with O2 LLU to a Sky phone line with Sky LLU broadband and it all went smoothly, even though it did take a few weeks. No installation cost either.

But if you had BT line rental then it was not a fully LLU'd line.

it appears if leaving or going to Bt then the transition to another providers LLU is far simpler and quicker !!

If you are with BT now then it's simple.

If you are with another LLU operator, and you want to move to a different LLU operator, it's a bit more difficult. But not impossible.

How iPlayer will run depends solely on your connection speed after you've moved over. Because it works fine on mine and a million other Sky BB customers connections, doesn't mean it will on yours.
