Asda price challenge

When i've put the codes in this morning to see if its 10% cheaper, they claims is £26 cheaper than Tesco, £21 cheaper than Sainsburys, £11 cheaper than Ocada, but cant compare against Morrisons because their data is out of date ........ so i read the small print and the only supermarket they say they cant give up to date prices is Morrisons (this covers themselves). Sneaky if you ask me, I will use my £5 voucher but wont do my main shop there again, have always preferred Morrisons, on quality and price.
Anyone know anymore about this get out clause they have with Morrisons prices?WestonDave wrote: »Morrisons don't have a home delivery service so there isn't a readily available source of price data. From time to time they will manage to get hold of it but with the others (Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado) the online shopping service gives instant access to the full range of prices.
Miroslav - you can use all the available price checker vouchers in one go including the £5 one - I had over £13 off this weeks shopping due to having 2 weeks price checker vouchers and one £5 one. Having just run Tuesday's delivery I've got another £6 in guarantee vouchers and another £5 from a £90 shop (higher than normal this week as didn't do one last week).
Unlike all the others Morrisons does not have an ONLINE ordering system with all their products and prices listed and therefore "realtime" comparisons are not possible.
Remember this IS NOT ASDA doing this - it is mysupermarket.com - an INDEPENDENT company and ASDA's APG is provided by them.
According to mysupermarket.com THEY obtain prices from Morrisons MANUALLY by sending representatives into their supermarkets (several of them) TWICE A WEEK.
As for today's problem with APG NOT comparing with Morrisons because "the prices are more than 7 days out of date", I have spoken to CS at ASDA HQ who were unaware of the issue BUT WERE VERY CONCERNED about NOT being able to do true and accurate APG checking with ALL the supermarkets they promise to.
They were going to chase up mysupermarket immediately to find out what the problem was and when they would put it right.
ADVICE IS: Keep the receipt and check again later - perhaps tomorrow or over/after the weekend.

I do my food shop online and I didn't realise that you could claim £5 every time you spent £40
, so I claimed the first week the offer started and got my £5 without any problem. But I spent over £40 last week and can't work out how to claim £5 for last week.
When I go to supermarket.com, it only imports the information from the last order I placed, which is this week's shopping and I want to claim for last week's order.
The T&C say I have until 24 November to claim, so does anyone know how I can claim the £5 for last week's online order?
Thank you.0 -
I got an email from Asda with mine telling me to wait 48 hours then price compare, it only works on the last order delivered as I understand it. HTH
I used my first voucher today and my previous order gave me another oneLife happens, live it well.0 -
On 26 Oct I complied with the requirements of the ASDA Price Guarantee offer - 8 items purchased which are within scope of the offer and 1 which is comparable on the MySuperMarket.com website. I bought 10 items (3 of which were part of triple offer - so 8 individual grocery items) 6 of which had comparisons.
When I entered the details in the website the day after the purchase, the computer said I didn't have enough comparable items.
I rang the local store (there are no other contact methods on the website) and was told by a manager that nothing could be done without my taking the receipt to the store but would be contacted within 2 days by the Customer Services Manager.
This didn't happen and I went on my weekly trip to Andover and asked at the Service Desk for the problem to be resolved. I had to wait 15 mins for the CSM. She took me to a laptop which was set up in the store and the receipt was rejected again. I was told repeatedly that the offer required 8 comparable items, despite my showing them a downloaded set of T&Cs and on 2 occasions that I hadn’t purchased enough items. The CSM told me she couldn't resolve the problem as the scheme wasn't run by ASDA. When I offered her a set of print outs from the comparison site showing the items and the price differences and asked her to check them she said it wasn't her job. She eventually called the Assistant Store Manager who again tried to tell me that I required 8 comparable items, I showed him the T&Cs. He promised to get back to me later that day or the next day he was on duty. He did ring later that day and again told me that I needed 8 comparable items and that the T&Cs I had covered another offer (the £5 off a £40 shop). I pointed him to the website with the T&Cs he then promised to get back to me by the end of the week.
This didn't happen. I rang the ASM again today and was told that the matter had been passed to Head Office where a team was working on queries, when I asked if this meant there were many queries he told me I would have to wait until Head Office got back to him.
No one in the store seems to know the conditions for the nationally advertised promotion and the computer seems to be in the same situation.0 -

Haven't been to store yet but will be doing so tomorrow. As sick of APG, it's like playing the lottery as to whether they compare items or not :mad:0 -
In defence of Asda price guarantee promotion I personally love it!
If anyone just shops normally then there is every chance you won't get any return. however, if you shop carefully, deliberately buying items that are clearly cheaper elsewhere (like Tesco special offers) then you will be rewarded with the difference plus 10%.
However, this is all quite time consuming and I am lucky that I do have that luxury of time and I have all the major supermarkets within a 5 mile radius and I fully appreciate that not everyone has this.
Up until the 31 October also any apg rewards were also accepted by Tesco (as a ploy to try and maintain your loyalty) so effectively any apg could be used twice (once in Asda (receipt back, signed or unsigned) and then again in Tesco. Sadly Tesco withdrew this policy on 31 October as they wished to use funds lost through this to promote their own price drop promo.
Asda price guarantee also great for wombles, like myself. Even just a few pounds in wombled vouchers makes a difference to a weekly budget.
As with any supermarket promotional drive - they are always geared this way - you just have to work it... baby... work it.
One great example at the minute are elizabeth shaw mints - massive price difference between Asda and Tesco. Obviously buy them in Asda and you'll get the difference back plus a nice handy 10%. Not to be sniffed at.
It is easy to separate shopping from your usual stuff. Source the "value" range of items that you would probably use to bulk out the 8 item requirement. Asda own sparkling & spring water, both 17p, are compared. As is 1 weighed banana for instance. Value range tinned custard & rice pudding are very cheap and always handy for an emergency at home. These will compare as virtually the same cost as Tesco/Sainsburys/Morrisons and not therefore affect your reward.
Also, to close - Asda started their price guarantee scheme before Tesco and Sainsburys and through that time Tesco's has been proved to be a flop (for both them and the customer) and the Sainsburys one is quite new still. Asda fully promote their price guarantee with hoardings, leaflets and online. Tesco on the other hand seem embarrassed by theirs and is cleverly concealed on their site map online. Asda win hands down in this war I think.Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

Dear All
I know some of you think asda has the best deal but please tell why asda have appeared on WATCHDOG 3 times this year for overcharging there customers who shop online. If you went and shopped in Sainburys/Tesco i bet you could find alot of items Cheaper than asda.My wife was overcharged and when she went into the local store all they said was a system error but then the whole problem was aired on WATCHDOG .
I will never shop at asda again as there quality is not as good as sainsburys and Tesco.s
Ps Sainsburys will price match on 1 item not a min of 8
Thankyou Happy Shopping0
