Ours is set to 17degrees for 7.30-8.30, 14deg 8.30-4.30, 18deg 4.30-10.00 and 10deg at night. 10deg for night is about right. Any hotter and we keep waking up too hot and the boiler keeps us awake. Any colder and we keep waking up cold in the night.
Our heating actually came on this afternoon :o

  • 19c, and I am always freezing due to a dodgy thyroid!!!! If chilly, I put a fleece on.
  • It's on just below 10. Unless DD gets up before me, then she thinks she's being really decadent by putting it up to 18.

She is, really, as I wouldn't have put it on at all - I only succumb when I can't feel my feet or hands.

Before I moved from the dump that was my own flat, I spent the winter sleeping in a room that was under 5 degrees most of the night. Not by choice, by shoddy workmen not insulating the edges of the roof like they should have done, and poor double glazing installation, where there was only a layer of silicon filler between the outside world and the 19 inches to my bed.

14 is positively tropical after those years.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
