Not too bad this week, Wednesday went to pot because I had no leftover to feed us... so we had an 'if it' night... no one complained :)

If you notice that there is a lot of Cauliflower Cheese on the menu, just smile and nod at the pregnant woman's current cravings

NB. I have Insulin Resistance and therefore eat a Low Gi/GL diet, so sometimes the boys eat different or altered meals (I don’t want people to think I cater for fussy eaters!)

Friday (No DS) - [STRIKE]Mititei and Cauliflower Cheese[/STRIKE] :silenced: Revised to Pork Chop and Sweetcorn ME/LO Lasagne OH
Saturday (No DS) - Cottage Pie (wo/ Mash for me)
Sunday (No DS) - [STRIKE]LO Mititei and Cauliflower Cheese[/STRIKE] :silenced: Revised to Pork Chops and Cauliflower Cheese
Monday (No DS) - [STRIKE]Cottage Pie Toasties[/STRIKE] Sausage Casserole
Tuesday - Cottage Pie Toasties
Wednesday - [STRIKE]Spaghetti Bolognaise (Pork and Cauliflower Cheese - Me)[/STRIKE] Pizza and Chips for boys/LO Sausage Casserole ME
Thursday - LO Pizza and chips for the boys/LO Sausage Casserole ME

Hope everyone has a great week x

we went to pot this week coming back fro hols and various evening things - however have fallen back on a couple of standby recipes and used what we have in rather than getting takeaways/ buying more so its all good.

Need to replan til the end of the month tonight but from memory of whats in the freezer

    Slow roast Pork
    leftovers (probably pulled pork sarnies)
    Jackets and toppings
something eggy - quiche or strata
    veggie burgers and wedges
    jambalaya
    steak pie
    prawn curry
    sweet and sour pork
    beef fajitas
    another eggy something
    pasta with sausages

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I was quite pleased with myself last week as I stuck to my plan on all except one day (I had to take the cat for an emergency (and very expesnive :() vet appointment and ran out of both time and enthusiasm).

My intention this week is to not buy anything except milk and fruit / veg as my freezer is full to overflowing and I really need to run down the contents a bit. :o (Freezer stuff is marked (F).)

Friday - pizza - LOs from last week's BOGOF takeaway (F)
Saturday - brisket chilli(F) and smoked cheese (F) stuffed gem squash
Sunday - split pea and ham (F) soup (made with ham stock which is also (F) with HM bread
Monday - smoked cheese (F) and bacon (F) quiche
Tuesday - chard and ricotta lasagne (F)
Wednesday - spicy smoked mackerel (F) rice
Thursday - bacon (F) and mushroom supreme with brown rice

That should give me a bit more space, and is rather colourful! ;)
Back after a very long break!
  • Got my mealplan in some sort of order now, so here it goes:

    Thurs: Omlettes & Salad
Fri: Fish with HM Tomato Sauce & Pasta (Fish from freezer)
Sat: Beef Stirfry with Oyster Sauce (Beef in freezer)
Sun: Breakfast - Bacon Sandwiches; Tea - Eat at MIL's
Mon: HM Chilli - mixed with Mince & Roasted Veg (from freezer) & Rice
Tues: HM Fish Pie topped with swede & potato mash (fish in freezer)
Wed: Posh Sausage & Mash (Sausages in freezer)

    Have a good week all.

  • I am organised this week :D

Sun - Italian beef (with either pasta or pesto mash)
Mon - Pork & mash/stew leftovers for me
Tues - Cottage pie & veg
Wed - Spag bol & garlic bread/ Soup and crusty bread for me
Thurs - Cous cous and veg sauce with beef strips
Fri - Coley with leek & potato bake
Sat - Pizza with something yet to be thought of....

Most of this is from the freezer so it is a defrost & reheat week, except Saturday which will be a mess up the kitchen day ;)

    Best wishes :)

Saturday 22nd - no idea yet, we like to have a treat on a Saturday so this will either be take-away, meal out, or OH will cook (probably something oven-ready from Waitrose or M&S!)
Sunday 23rd - roast chicken with mixed roasted root veg and cabbage
Monday 24th - I'm meeting a friend for lunch in London so dinner will be light....fish cakes and veg
Tuesday 25th - spaghetti and meatballs
Wednesday 24th - we are staying overnight in London so will get dinner there, nowhere fancy probably Pizza Express or similar
Thursday 25th - rice and beans with jerk pork
Friday 26th - (on my own, OH away) - chicken goujons with veg and potatoes

As last week, all the meat/fish etc is coming from the freezer so didn't need to buy a huge amount. Ordered my shopping to come tomorrow and as it's a cheap week food-wise, have taken advantage of Sainsbury's 3 for 2 gift offer to start stocking up on Christmas presents!
  • I can’t believe we are preparing for another week. But I have to say after going off track with my previous menu’s I did stick rigidly to this week. Because I have spent way over my target for Oct I really need to stick to this one as well, so meals are based on what I have in stock/freezer, the only thing I may need to buy is soured cream for the stroganoff, but I might try using some hm yoghurt instead.

Sun – Mushroom Stroganoff with brown rice
Mon – Roast chicken and oven roasted ratatouille
Tues – LO Ratatouille with Pasta & crusty bread
Wed – Meatloaf, mashed pots, veg.
Thurs – Chickpea Curry, rice/naan bread
Fri – Vegetarian Moussaka, crunchy salad
Sat – OUT FOR DINNER – WHOOPIE = Entertainment budget!! (how sad am I, but I don’t get out much)

Lunches will continue to be soup from freezer, sandwiches or LO's.
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £113.01
  • Ohhhh I'm so unorganised this week as didn't get DM to bring any groceries when she came at the start of the week (didn't need them then!).

Literally haven't got any veg left so will be struggling until Monday:eek: so will have to make do with some mash & chips I've got in the freezer until then.

Sat - Roast chicken with veg (F) & chips (F) (pick & make stock)
Sun - [STRIKE]Chicken curry with LO chicken [/STRIKE] no mango chutney:(
    Mon -
    Tues -
    Weds -
    Thurs -
    Fri -

mmmm this is going to require a bit more thought ...... will be back (hopefully) shortly

It seems a bit of a "waste" defrosting a whole chicken & cooking if I've not got "proper" veg to go with it - it was going to be the staple of a lot of my meal plan this week as does me several days mmmmmm

  • Rising from the ashes, what about jointing the chicken and cooking in different ways once you get your veg - just a thought.
