Anyway, moving swiftly on....on way home from the north, called in on old and very positive friend and we've sorted out the first part of my on-line shop.... it's not there yet (I've got to sit and design the website), but once I'm ready it'll be at www.norasthoughts.co.uk how cool is that??!!:jPay off as much as you can in 2012 challenge No. 64: 328.75/2,5000 -
Ummm why are you paying for a website when there are so many free ones about??????
Love the name though!
Well, I wanted my own one and everything else is a complete learning curve...huge, huge learning curve.... not really a curve so much as a vertical line...normally you wouldn't trust me with anything IT related...seriously, it's a wonder I've not had the IT police at the door to remove my laptop!!
Full shop name is Nora's Thoughts and Other Stories.... it's only taken me more than a decade to work up the courage to do this...:rotfl:0 -
Well, hello again 'verse!
Since I went a bit mad earlier this week, and haven't really been massively in control of the old pennies (or the new ones for that matter) since before Christmas, I thought I would do a bit of a review. Since becoming an MSE stalwart, I've:- Paid off and closed my Next account (over £600 before I started my diary in October '11);
- Paid off £3,815.52 from my debts since October '11 (not including Next);
- Completed on Loan 2 (yesterday!) - releasing £378.89 per month...which is lucky as I really don't have it to spare
;
- Created a Christmas savings account with a little monthly DD;
- Created a car maintenance and tax savings account with a monthly DD;
- Found a wonderful sounding board and support group for my insane ramblings, and inner muppet;
- Become more self-aware about my spending habits, triggers and coping mechanisms;
- Discovered the joy of a NSD;
- Discovered the joy of going over my finances like Fagin...:rotfl:
- Decided to live the dream of an online business for my crafts;
- Had a PPI success (cheque yet to be recieved) which will give another good leap to the debt free aim...; and
- now know what to do in terms of next steps - and just where to go for advice and support. Thank you all! :kisses3:
CC1: £1,161.32. Status: currently under lock and key with a friend. DD set up for main payments;
CC2: £4, 416.93. Status: card cut up. DD set up for main payments;
L1: £7,655.75. Status: Ongoing - DD set up for overpayments. Snowball suggests potential clearance by Oct 2012....;
O/D: £659.96. Status: ongoing. Includes:- £92.91 credit - final electric bill;
- £137.95 debit - final gas bill;
- 76p credit (!) - cancelled house insurance;
- £112.48 debit - final water bill; and
- £58 debit - random BT moment...
Other than that, the overdraft shows my general spends and stuff...and is the one I can do a lot about just by being a good MSE follower....bit like my school reports - could do better/must try harder!

liking the review, smacks of someone who's in control of her finances
well done that girl!
hope BT match your calculations but unfortunately you've forgotten to factor in lunar charges, muppet refunds and idiot multiplications of said totals, oh and don't forget the lovely contribution to the vat man's pension fund.0 -

*stands tall, with hands where her hips would be if that bit of her curved in and out where it should*
NSD #5 declared today!
*Ahhhhhhh-aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh* (it's cherubs singing - stick with me here).
I'm ignoring Freeby's huge achievement to date (though she's had an awful day, so sparing her a thought...), and keeping my head down...I shall achieve my 15 day target!!!
Tomorrow, NSD 6 shall be mine....it shall be my pressssscccccciiiiooouuusssss. *rubs hands with evil glee*0 -

Just to make you feel better I will have to spend todayI would like to say that I am a kind caring person and am giving you a chance to catch up but in reality my car won't run on fresh air
I am in awe of all your achievements - look at that lovely long list. You've done so well and I have to admit to turning a pea coloured jealous green.
I am also loving the idea of Nora's Thoughts and can't wait to see it up and running. Good luck hunny, I know I'll be there clicking away.
And as for those people with their negative thoughts and comments?????? Well, in my humble opinion they are just scared and jealous. Scared of change and jealous of seeing someone achieving their dream while they are doing nothing about achieving theirs.
Ignore them, prove to them you can and will do it.
Some famous person once said "Regret only the things you haven't done in life, not the things you have"..........or something like that but you get the ideax x

Good morning from chilly Lancashire x Muchly impressed with your organisational skills Miss Nora, can't wait to see your website...I have knitted my OH an epic bobble hat from wool which makes stripes by itself
It's gorgeous but the ungrateful !!!!!! is refusing to wear it as he says it makes him look like a hobo
Four whole hours it took me to make that, put love in it and everything, am going to have a proper sulk this morning, grrrrr
:cool:'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0 -
darn right you should have a proper sulk Lassy, that's completely out of order, it would never be your hat that makes him look like a hobo, if he didn't have that tendancy anyway it would never happen lol
Nora still in holding pattern for moving so drowning in boxes which will grow again over this weekend coming, i'm hoping i can have the rest of the place sorted except for the kitchen but that may just be beyond me this weekend.0
