I put the heating on for the neighbour's cat who comes visiting.

You'd think the little beast could at least repay the favour and warm the bed for a few hours, but she comes in for a quick heat and then bggrs off out again. Treats this place like a hotel.
My neighbour's cat comes in to cuddle up on my lap and have a doze (getting some peace from the owner's kids). If I'm not sitting down on the sofa, he squawks at me until I do and if I dare to have the laptop on my knee, he sits with his bum on the keyboard and his front paws on my chest.

I don't put the the heating on for him, I use him as my hot water bottle - a mutually beneficial relationship.

My parents old cats loved to sit in the tumble dryer after it had been on, or they'd lie in front of the gas fire hoping someone would take pity on them and turn it on.

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

I actually do put the heating on just for mine when i probably wouldn't for just myself. I know i shouldn't but she sits looking at the radiator then back at me then puts her paw on the radiator and if its cold looks back at me again......i am owned.

I rarely have the heating on. My cats curl up on/in the bed. Lovely when they curl up in the bed in the winter - keeps me nice and warm although not a lot of room in the bed!

When it's really cold, it's the airing cupboard (on their blanket) during the day and under my duvet at night. Sorted!

  • My cats have a microwave heat pad (SnuggleSafe Microwave Wireless Heatpad). Costs £15ish but lasts a long time and is bite & scratch resistant, so I think it's a good buy. They stay warm all night and can even be used outside. Cheapest I've found is on amazon.
Other than that a cardboard box with a couple of old wooly jumpers is often popular with our kitty masters. ;)
