My lot's job is to keep ME warm.. that is what I feed them/clean their crap for, they have to earn their keep somehow, no?

    ;)
  • Mine definitely have a special look that says 'please put the heating on'! Doesn't mean I take any notice though ;) Luckily haven't seen 'the look' yet - trying to resist putting heating on until November...

One currently sleeping on the back of the sofa where sunlight is streaming in through the window, one in her usual spot on the duvet on my bed (sleeps there day and night - after I get up in the morning it has to be made - get glares until the duvet is shaken and replaced 'properly') and the others are outside. Owned?!
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ...
  • Haha it sounds like your cats know what they want!

Mine tend to snuggle around me when I am downstairs. I won't be putting on the heating until november at the earliest either. Where I used to live there were storage heaters and one of my cats used to love laying on them to keep warm. I noticed she was losing fur around her back legs though because she was on it so long! I had to turf her off and cover up the heaters with various ornaments! She wasn't impressed with that and I got dirty looks!

  • Our cats live out in the conservatory and in the wintertime I just cut a hole in the side of a box, shove some blankets in and they cuddle up together in there.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

When ours was still alive, and after the tussle with the mafogglies to see who ruled the house, I'd often find her curled up beside the Rough Collie, snuggled under all his fur. Occasionally she'd also have laid on the Lab, or in a very rare case, she'd be found under a cushion or inside my fleece, regardless of whether or not I was wearing it.....

Mafogglies- Rough Collie is perpetually warm, and often acts as a draught excluder.
Lab is perpetually seeking warmth, and can be found trying to wriggle under cushions (she still thinks she's a pup.)

I put a hot water bottle in the cat carrier today when taking Peaches to get her jabs done, the vet laughed!

Just put the sheepskin rug in the front room, in front of the fire, cats seem to quite like that.
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.
  • my house is allways hot , fortune spent on heating but i have a bad hip and cold really makes it bad.
