Sky HD Installation - How far in advance can you book?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of renovating my house and when it is eventually ready I would like to have Sky+HD installed. I plan on moving in the mid-December and obviously this will be a busy time installation wise for Sky as it's just before Christmas. I wondered how far you can book installations in advance if I ordered Sky online? Would I be able to order now and select a date in December for the installation?

Many thanks

I would get the dish and cabling independently installed as part of the renovation, also cabling for Sky return path allowing viewing in all rooms.

Then just have the stb plugged in when ready.

Especially as Sky will run the cables externally & not thru lofts, trunking ect.I think,if my memory's correct, that installs can be booked up to 30 days in advance.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I've had all of the re-wiring and plastering done now so it's fine for the cables to go outside. I will try and order around mid-November for a mid-December installation!

    Thanks again :-)

  • At the moment, trend seems to indicate that you can book roughly three weeks in advance. You can always reschedule- and advisors will be happy to do that for you. Lovely easy call, done in five minutes and probably only required just the once in your case. May be worth looking into.

However it's now coming upto Sky's busiest time of the year,(people getting the Sky in for Christmas,) so the job slots will become less & less as it gets nearer to Christmas.
Over here Sky end up sending dish monkeys over from Scotland as the main contractor (Finlay Communications) don't have enough staff to cover the workload.
Because of this, some jobs will be put into a reserve pool so if an installer has a job fail (no-access/special heights needed ect) then the is work to replace the lost job.Downside is that if all the regular work gets done, the pool jobs wont unless the installers will work overtime.
