Clearance mobile phones- best company to use??

hi all
I really want to get a clearance mobile phone deal as they seem so much cheaper than normal tarrifs...I was with Easymobile which was perfect but obviously they've shut now...switched to Fresh mobile but I don't rate it at all as you have to call an 0870 number for about 10 mins to top up.
Anyway...I've read some of the threads on here about E2Save and Carphone Warehouse and they seem pretty negative to say the least. Can anyone actually recommend any company/ and or deal and handset for a mobile clearance deal?
