Hey - Have you thought about hiring a cottage or a chalet out instead ? - much much cheaper - this is what I am doing this weekend - for 3 nights paying £120 - and there are some lovely places around - I searched on ebay.... just a thought....

    Where are you staying ?

I'd suggest staying in Betws-y-Coed as it's the best base for exploring Snowdonia. There are plenty of hotels and guest houses as well as places to eat. It's also located close to the junction of the A5 and A470 which will take you to most places of interest in the area and it's also on the Conwy Valley railway line which runs from Llandudno in the North to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the South.

If you haven't already done so you also check out the North Wales Tourism website (from which you can request a brochure) - http://www.nwt.co.uk/.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

We stayed at the Travelodge at Porthmadog when we visited the Snowdonia area.

    Usual Travelodge quality...and cheap!
  • Decided to go york now, hotels quite expensive there though so will probably look outside of it to stay in.

Will go national railway museum, just need to decide where else, PS if anyone thinks of anywhere nice to stay i'm open to suggestions :)
