Halifax Claim My Payments Are Late
Comments

I pay my Halifax CC by direct debit - the DD is automatically taken on the payment due date and, though it doesn't reflect on my account for a day or two, Halifax count it as paid.Hi,
Halifax are claiming my payments are late, even though I am paying by direct bank transfer, using Barclays PIN sentry online.
Think you should just set up a DD and let Halifax take care of the rest.0 -

Be careful setting up a DD that can take random amounts as this can lead you into problems if you have tight cashflow. By setting up such a DD you are basically giving them access to take money from your account, if you have insufficient funds to cover the amount you can end up with additional charges for going over your authorised overdraft or having the transaction declined.
If you have a tight cashflow you are better retaining control of your money but just make sure you pay what is due on time. I find DD's are only good when it is a regular fixed amount to be debited.0 -
I have a min payment DD set up on my Halifax cc and then top it up with whatever additional amount I want to pay.
Halifax don't offer faster payments (as mentioned by another poster) so you do have to pay at least three working days before the due date.0 -
The DD is for full payment, not 'random amounts'. I know what I can afford to spend, budget for it and have the money available to pay by due date - simple! Of course there is the option of paying the minimum each month, but this is not advisable as debt can very easily build, so also the illusion that one has more money to spend.Be careful setting up a DD that can take random amounts as this can lead you into problems if you have tight cashflow. I pay a Halifax CC from my Barclays Account and it is always there the day after as long as it is weekday to weekday.0

I was just giving a warning to the OP that such a system can lead to difficulties if cashflow is tight. By "random amounts" I mean that month to month the amount to be debited will vary depending on your spend on the card.
This system works for you as you obviously keep track of your spend and ensure you have sufficient funds to clear the balance each month but not everyone is the same.0
