I think I've worked it out. If your over 45 then the minimum premium is £7.50 per month.

You can tell it how much you want to pay. I got it for £5 and i confessed to being a smoker. It's covered me for 79k for £5 a month.

    Thanks OP

79K??? i have just taken the identical policy out and mine has only covered me for £7.530
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Do you not have to disclose medical information? My OH has lots of things (diabetes, asthma, mental health problems) so would this not affect his cover? Have looked at the policy details but can't find the answer!
  • thanks op, just signed up for £5 a month, I wonder when we will get the points though I wouldnt think it would be this months statement. Anyway will be nice for early next year. Did anyone notice if it gave you an option for when the direct debit to come off? I couldnt find it. Do you think you can cancel the policy 3 months after the start date or will it have to be after the 3rd month's payment? Just wondering if I can get away with £10 outlay!

YEs make sure you do. This offer is very similar to the one many of us took out with Quidco and Tesco giftcard. There was a real worry when this happened and I expect it will happen hear too.

    Good luck!

can i ask a daft question? Me & hubby already have a fantastic life insurance policy each....can we take out another alongside our existing ones? Our current ones arent with Tesco, so that shouldnt be an issue, but just wondered if it was allowed? Obviously I dont plan to die in the next 3 mths, but if the worst happened, we would still want to have our current policy - i just wouldnt want it to be classed as invalid due to us opening another policy! any advice would be great!
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

There is no limit on how many policies you can have on one person.

"Yes, you can own multiple life insurance policies with multiple insurance companies.

The application for coverage usually asks if you own other life insurance policies and how much coverage you own.

The insurance company wants to make sure you aren't over-insured for any reason. But, if they say it's ok, you can buy life insurance with several insurance companies. Just make sure to answer the questions on the application truthfully.

I hope that helps. Best of luck to you.

It will be your age. Under a limit = £5, over a limit = £7.50.

Thanks OP, i have just signed up and got £107,267 over 20 years, paying £5.00 a month. Not as good as my current life insurance, £7 a month and get a £200,000 payout so won't be sticking with tesco after the 3 months im afraid.
