It doesn't matter if it overlaps you'll still get the same money.
If it overlaps your husband will get ESA + Carers Premium
If it doesn't he'll get ESA + Carers Premium - Carers Allowance and you'll get Carer Allwance paid.
In either case the Cares Premium IS paid and the Carers Allowance is effectively NOT paid.0 -
But according to the information quoted from DWP there seems to be a difference between Income-related and contribution-based ESA.
With CBESA the main claimant's amount for the partner in receipt of CA is reduced or stopped, while for IRESA there is no mention of this.
Can anyone explain this?
I do not get any benefits directly myself, it is my partner that is in receipt of IRESA. I currently get nothing.0 -
This is all arbitary as your partner is receiving ESA(IR), however, Contribution Based ESA is paid to the individual and is not affected by any income earned by either person, with the exception of pension income.. Income Related ESA is paid as a couple (where appropriate), and all income, from both partners is decducted from the ESA payments..0
