DH managed to convince me to put £10 on his online game  its one of those tricky situations that he sees it as he works a carppy job for carppy money to look after us he should get some money a month to himself, I see it as we already bought our rewards when we couldn't afford them so now we have to pay them back. Its hard having such opposing ideas to money and debt. I hav compromised on he gets £10 a month for either a few beers down the pub or his game but I still see it as dead money

I know it must be hard to be handing over £10 when you think that could buy stuff for the kids/food/petrol but if it makes him happy then it's a small price to pay I think. Can you see if there's a package that you can pay one lump sum into and it's a bit cheaper? I know World of Warcraft has different length subs that get cheaper the longer you buy. You could get it for his Christmas present or something?£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
Hellooooo Kiss_me_now9
With his game there is a 6 monthly/yearly subscription for a premium account (its cheaper to buy it yearly so thats what I do) the £10 a month is on top of the subscription to buy pearls to upgrade his ship/ammo/cannons totally unneccesary in my eyes as you can earn pearls through the game but he's one of those people that has to have it all the easy way. I used to play myself and thats how I played as I couldnt bear giving my money to someone for something imaginary  but it played havoc with my M.E so I had to quit so hes now got his ship and my ship :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000 -
Well im not a happy bunny at all today as a few weeks ago himself had £10 out of me for his game and £10 for the pub (i must have been having a really good day for him to get away with both) ive checked the bank last night and he's put another £20 on his game after discussing it with me, me saying we cant afford it and him agreeing he'd had his money! Really in a place where I feel im fighting this debt battle alone and what narks me off is that if I was on my own with my half of the debt (I use that term loosely as I didnt run up half of it) i'd be clear in about 12 months as I am very used to having no money to myself.
In fact, having had a real moan at my best mate via text last night i've realised I have had no spending money to myself for the 11 years we have lived together, he's had it all
Even my birthday /christmas money has been used to pay bills/buy food
On an up side I have just switched my gas/elec as scottish power had upped my monthly bill from £60 to £100, got £22 cashback through TCB, supposedly saving £105 a year through the switch and npower are sending me £100 love2shop voucher for switching to them
Am still potting away on the sealed pot challenge as well so hopefully there will be a nice amount on opening day 1st Dec

Helloooooo Diary
Well im just shy of my first $5 payout on swagbucks :j and over halfway toward my first payout on maximiles :j been to see Father Christmas today with Gran and DD, she was ultra excited right up until he came round the corner in his sleigh, complete with real live reindeer, when she decided to hide behine my wheelchair :rotfl: When we tried to go home after she had the mother of all faces on and after 10 minutes of pouting finally said 'but I havent told him what I want!!' so back we go, do the 2 hr queue up, Gran kindly pays the £6 to get in, in we traipse where she again hides behind me and refuses to talk to him.
Happy as larry and smiling away everytime he speaks to the other children but as soon as he speaks to her . . nope . . behind the chair she goes :rotfl: so it was up to mummy to tell him that she would very much like a skipping rope please
But she is now happy as he knows what she wants, and mummy is happy as she was by far the cheapest toy in the room :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000 -
Im so upset today, DH has gone off to work at 1pm and walked back in the door at 3pm because the company have laid him off, reason? over a complaint by another worker which wasn't true
DH had a witness who backed him up that it wasnt true but they still let him go
and we have no rights as DH was an agency worker . . . the 12th to be laid off in the last 2 days . . . hmm wonder if it could actually be because of the stupid new agency rules and they were all creeping up on their 12 weeks . . .
Im just so angry at the unfairness, worried about how the hell im going to pay the mortgage if the Agency cant find him anything else, weighing down under all th debts that now have no money coming in to pay them and that DH is now going to slip back into his depression and I wont be able to dig him back out!
Have had him on the phone to 2 more agencies and have had a good scout through jobcentre plus but not alot out there, he has no ability where it comes to admin type work, he's a manual worker through and through, but with dyslexia anything with forms scares the carp out of him

Hi Jakes-Mum I've loved reading your comments on the SPC thread so thought I'd wander over to our diary too. Keep your chin up, everything tends to work out in the end even if we can't see why at the moment. Hope your DH finds some work soon and remember to try to have a little bit of money for yourself, even if it's just a bar of choccie

 its been an entire week since ive posted!! thats terrible!! ok update
well ive joined another challenge! (love those challenges!) get debt free by christmas 2012
so far paid back £405 of the £8806.89 debt (thats including the overdrafts
) also DH opened his sealed pot (naughty boy 10 days early) and had £260 in £1 coins in there :j cant wait to open mine now, and I better have more than he had as we had a competition going and as i'm the one who got his £1's for his tin from the bank, ill be right narked if hes beaten me!
So ive paid a bill and put £10 of fuel in my car out of DH's pot money so we still have £180 left, have said he can have £20 for his game as well so its not like he saved for nothing . . he knows we have debts that need paying so hes happy with the £20
I would also like either a meal out or a trip to the cinema but we will see as I am a bit of an OCD debt busting machine
