no, need to delete the partition then reallocate the whole disk.
in the disk management, right click on the drive delete the partion then reallocate. you can now format the whole drive.0 -

Now apart from nicking the HD out of this unit is anything else there of any value/interest or should it be binned?
And I take it that the software is of no use either?

you have got a very small single board computer. you could have some fun with that.
looks like its got :
1 serial port
1 (network/usb port) the silver box cant make it out from the picture
1 mouse/keyboard port?
1 video port (how many holes)0 -
it might even recognise a cd drive if your lucky.0
