    Evening all :)

I hope that everyone is ok and that the weather settles down soon. I've avoided stepping outside today and am glad I did. I had to wait in this morning for the engineer from Virgin to come and fit the new Tivo box and to move the V+ box into our bedroom. I'm now hoping that this wasn't a mistake as I hate the tv guide on the new box and had forgotten how noisy the V+ box is.
After asking DH for a curtain pole over the front door for years, I've given up and pinned a fleece blanket to it to stop some of the draughts and the letter box banging in the wind. It looks terrible but seems to have made a big difference. I can actually feel my toes.
I've ignored the banana cakes that need baking, so well done Kaz2904, I am very impressed by your efforts :). I have made pizza dough for dinner however, so the monsters are not unhappy about that. I'm sure that parents of teenage boys know what I mean. I'd better go and make some tomato sauce and sort out some toppings at some point. I find it's a good way of using up all those bits and pieces of cooked meat that seem to lurk in the fridge. DH has a habit of buying salami and meat products and then not finishing them/forgetting about them, so this way they get eaten. I think there is some chorizo hiding at the back of the fridge that needs using up. My life is sooooo interesting. The highlight of the day is going searching for pizza toppings, I think I need a new hobby. I'll try and think of one once my stash of wool is used up.
Take care and stay warm and safe everyone xxx

I think teenage boys would quite happily live on only pizza!

Well as if things weren't tough enough in the Fru household, my laptop packed up today

Bloody marvelous. So off I trotted with my CC in hand and bought myself a shiny new one!!! Can't really afford it but definately can't afford to be without the internet so was caught between a rock and a hard place and had no choice really.

Mind you, my old one was second hand, and my big old PC before that was purchased about 10 years ago, so I suppose thats not too bad really.

Blew budget by £150 BUT got a £15 only valid today voucher, plus had a MrT voucher for double Club card points :T So, it was reduced by £200, and got approx £40ish off if you include the cc points - and bought it on a cashback CC.... Hmmmm - Think i have just about justified that to myself :rotfl:

Takes a bit of getting used to a new lappy tho... I touch type (speedily!) and keep hitting the wrong keys

Thats it now, no more spends except SMs Xmas pressie, Mums and sons pressies and that is ALL. Shopping will be seriously budgeted and I hope that by March I will be all clear again. Was debt free until recently, then it all went horribly wrong.

How is everybody this evening? Keeping warm I hope? Its windy and chilly here but i've got my fire roaring with free wombled wood and heating is on v low for the rest of the house :)

I've just spent the evening watching the Military Wives Choir episodes 1-3. I missed them when they were on originally. Wow. I'm absolutely speechless by those ladies. Blown away. I think I cried through every single episode :o.
I've also just found a message on my answer phone from Thursday 24th Nov asking if I was working a bank shift at work. Really not happy now, I'm just not getting messages on my phone so if someone rings whilst I'm out, I don't get the message until about a week later. That's 2 shifts I have missed now due to my answer phone not working properly. Both shifts I could have done as they were my only night off in between a block of nights and it's ended up losing me money. It also doesn't look good as it gives the impression that I'm unreliable :(.
Ah well, I'm into work tomorrow night for 5. I may be a bit scarce on here but hopefully will be warm at work :).

Blowing a gale again here, and therefore no boats - again! Mr T will be making a big loss. Apparently Macdonalds ran out of food a few days ago (not that I ever go in there). I think it's about time the Isle of Man Steam Packet bought boats which were actually suitable for the Irish Sea

I'm so glad I started to stockpile earlier in the year. I'm going to do it with an even greater vengeance next year!

We'll probably end up eating each other :rotfl: Tender ones first :D

I've mentioned my stockpiling to various people, and we seem to be the only ones who are doing it. Do you live over here?

No, some of my family do but I have grown up with stories of really bad times and how keeping a good store is vital. :) My mum suggested we put together a food parcel for the relatives today - my dad dryly asked how she planned on delivering it!
